Always count your turns...and if you are going same ratio. Jus loosen one one side it'll get u closer to the original backlash you once had...and seven is perfect! Jus remember it's a zf your pre load has to be close to spot on! or she will sing to you louder than a gospel choir on Easter.

Nice job . So on that gauge you rest it on the tooth of the ring gear (i have never done one of these) then turn the hexes in or out to get your back lash number

Correct, Guage must barely touch the ringgear tooth and be on zero when touching it then slightly rock the ring gear to see the measurement then adjust accordingly.

when i installed mine i noticed the space between the axles was a bit loose. the axles have maybe a half or an inch of play in and out
