Instead of hitting the hub off you can instert the 4 bolts on a few threads atleats 3 or 4. Doing the driver side - with the truck off turn the steering wheel to the right. Cut a piece of 2x2 or put an extention on the socket for the bolt to go from the bolt to that indented part on the frame. Then turn the wheel to the left and it will press out the hub with barely any effort at all, less than with the wheel on the ground trying to turn the wheel with it off. I personally believe when people do ball joints and bang on the hubs that it destroys the bearings somehow, not sure how but maybe rattles dirt or metal in there or.kicks shavings or metal dust off the hub wall into the bearings although its a uni, or something bc every hub video I have seen, the guys always say , " this should come off easy this time bc I just did the ball joints." I mean every video. Not sure why or how but I really stood out to me. Anyway the press method works great.

Do these axle bearings need to be greased? Had the bearings on one axle completely burn up and fall out. Just wondering what maintenance they need. Thanks for the well done video!

They should all be a sealed unit and basically maintenance free until they fail unfortunately

@@KendorFarms myself, and two of my corn fed neighbors, who are quite big guys cannot get this thing loose. It’s just crazy that when we put the jack underneath the long bar it’ll almost pick up the front end of the truck off the jackstands before the nut will break loose. The nuts on so tight it’s almost picking up a second GEN dodge Cummins its insane

What were your symptoms that pointed you to the wheel hubs? I'm getting a vibration on my driver side from 60-75 mph. I had the death wobble but after rebalancing my tires I haven't had the wobble or hop. Also has 4 month old stabilizer bar.
@KendorFarms3 ай бұрын
I can't remember if it was noisey or when jacked up it had play in it
@JohnBruno-yi1ex2 ай бұрын
The death wobble is most likely the track bar .my last truck was a 2002 dodge dually. I was getting death wobble really bad. Almost had a wreck. My friend who does all dodge repairs said track bar and I put a new one and it never happened again. I current truck is a 2008. Git it once in it..I put a heavy duty adjustable track bar, chucked the 3 foot springs and put in semi air bags on all four and it rides great. Never had another problem

@markWood-z1p I eneded up borrowing an amazing tool from Matco. It's a hub puller. Can't remember the model but it works just like a regular hub/steering wheel puller by cranking against the driveshaft which I thought was a bad idea but 2 to 3 hard cranks with beaker/cheater bar and pop. I thought I broke something as it popped hard and loud.
@cowboyjc114 ай бұрын
It is very rare that you can just use a hammer, normally you have to put a gear puller on to get hub off.

Amazon isn’t quite there yet with the automotive side, but if you look up the part on RockAuto, it’ll give you many different prices/manufactures and maybe you can cross reference the part numbers with the ones on Amazon
