Thanks for the review. I love my 2023 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi Laramie. I bought it for the purpose of towing my Grand Imagine XLS23LDE, but both the wife and I like the comfort of it so much, we use it a lot for small trips without the RV. I got 19MPG not towing after my first oil change. The best I got Towing is 9.6MPG Traveling through the western part of the Virginia hills. I have a trip planned to Florida from Central VA in a few months. I hope to get a minimum of 10MPG going on average of 65MPH . Tows like a dream. No aftermarket exhaust or air intake. It runs so quiet when it reaches cruising speed. Maybe we will run into each other down at one of the NC State Parks.

That's some good gas mileage especially in the hills of Western Va. There are some nice hills in Central VA as well. Hopefully you will get even better mpg on your trip to Florida as that is a relatively flat ride all the way down. I'd be really interested to see what mpg you get. Totally agree with you on the comfort piece. I plan on taking some trips up to Virginia this summer as well. Hopefully between VA and NC we can cross paths one day.

I made a trip to Florida this month and had terrible cross winds and head winds going down. My Ram 2500, 6.4 Hemi got at best 8.6 MPG. Coming back, the first day I was getting 9.6MPG up to SC, then 9.1 on the second day. I did feel a cross wind. I do have an Anderson hitch and a 28.5 foot Imagine. The hitch did an excellent job. I’ve had a ‘22 Power Wagon for just over a year now. I have no complaints about the 6.4 but I’m considering a diesel. My Power Wagon is built for off-road, not towing.

Hey Nic, Great 40k update... glad everything is going great with the truck and you still love it. The BFG tires sure turned out good... I know when we talked in Petoskey this past summer the jury was still out on the tires but it sounds like your liking them a lot.... also I plan on checking out your new channel for sure. I'm loving my 2500 Laramie with the 6.4L with just under 17k.... the engine is seating and I am getting better gas mileage now which is nice. I was wondering if you have all your RV trips planned for the year? and are you still doing any camping in the winter season. Thanks for all the updates brother.

Hey good brother! Always good to hear from you. It was awesome getting to meet you in Petoskey this past summer. I'm still stuck on how beautiful that place is. I definitely should have planned for a longer trip! I'm glad the truck is doing well and coming together for you. You've got a nice one for sure. We have a couple more winter trips planned around NC. I'm hoping to get one in this winter in the outer banks of Virginia if I can squeeze it in there. We are still finalizing the big summer trip. We are heading west this year via the northern route. Any big trips for you this summer?

I agree. I have a 2022 Ram 2500 6.4 as well. The interior is still real competitive. My brother in law has a new F350 and they are now close. My father in law has a GMC 3500 2022 and it is still behind Ram. I think the powertrain will be solid in our trucks. I am only at 20k miles at the moment.

I think you're spot on with your assessment of the truck interiors. Ford definitely is close with the new interior upgrades. GM did good but I also feel like they still missed the mark a bit.

I picked up a 2014 Laramie Megacab 6.4 4x4 with only 16k miles I absolutely love it kinda wish I had the 8 speed tho but I like the 4th generation better.

That's great stuff. I am not as familiar with the 4th gens as I am the 5th gens but everyone I talk to about the 4th gens love them.

One I'm picking up today looks basically identical to yours, just missing the extra bits and goodie upgrades you got. Have you ever considered getting a camper shell or topper?

Nice review- I have the same truck. What size BF tires? Stock size?
@liveyourfree9 ай бұрын
I kept the same stock size as the regular tires. I highly recommend them

What gearing did you with on this?

The transmission does have a weird slip, it's not just your perception.

Thank you. That's definitely reassuring. Wasn't sure if I was just in my own head or not

What i find interesting is the Megacab 6.4 actually have less hp for some reason give it a goggle if you don't believe me. At least the one's in the 4th gens

What’s your average gas mileage when you are towing?
@liveyourfree9 ай бұрын
When towing the travel trailer it is between 8mpg and 9mpg. I've gotten over 9mpg but that isn't the norm. When a utility trailer without the wind factor I can get 11 to 12mpg. That wind drag on travel trailers really impacts the mpg in a big way
@haywardhuntsberry70389 ай бұрын
@@liveyourfree ok thanks for that. I’m just trying to figure out the difference between that and my 5.7. I went to Colorado thru New Mexico and I averaged 9-10mpg
@liveyourfree9 ай бұрын
@haywardhuntsberry7038 my 5.7 did about 1.5 mpg better than my 2500 towing the same trailer. The 2500 towed that trailer much better but did get worse mpg
@haywardhuntsberry70389 ай бұрын
@@liveyourfree when you say that the 2500 towed it better, do you mean you really didn’t feel the weight of it as much as the 1500?
@liveyourfree9 ай бұрын
@haywardhuntsberry7038 correct. It was much more in control of the trailer. The 1500 did the job safely and had slightly better mpg but it didn't control the trailer as well and forced me to work harder than the 2500.

How about a Carli lift and some 37s bro?
@liveyourfree9 ай бұрын
I think it would look pretty awesome. There's a few factors that keep me from doing it though. 1) I am 5'8 and don't need to make it any harder to get in the truck 😂 2) I like the way it tows stock and don't want to risk changing the tow experience or mpg performance and 3) I'm not sure of how it will impact the air suspension (if it even impacts it at all). I think it would look really great though
