I just changed rear diff cover to a banks cover on 2022 dodge ram 3500 4x4 had 8800 miles on it and still had break in gear wear particulates on magnet . Used lucas oil 75 90w .

@@hogie1685 excellent. Just wondering if it's a common thing. I'm up in the NE U.S., so I'm exposed to a lot of brine from the roads as well. I thought it might be a thing going that a lot of folks do to keep those surfaces a bit cleaner. Thanks a lot for answering.

No worries. Lots of SALT here in Ontario!!!! I mean some people use silicone but I wanted to get the proper gasket it’s personal preference really

It's shameful that RAM didn't put a drain plug on these. They want to make it as messy and expensive as possible so that you go to the stealership to have it done.

My '03 has a 10.5" ring gear. Most third gens will have the 11.5" though

@@hogie1685 I believe it is because it is the standard output truck which was derated to 250hp. It also has the 47re trans which most 3rd gen 5.9 autos would have the 48re.
