Great Recover!! 🏁That’s a lot better outcome than we expected after seeing the damage. Considering the truck was going the opposite direction, over corrected from the ditch on the other side of the road. Then jumped across the 6’ deep ditch to land there.

I wonder if that after-market lift kit was responsible for the rear axle shifting rearward? I noticed what looked like a considerable bit of mail laying on the ground. Glad the driver was ok.

I’d assume the axle shifted because it got rolled off at a fairly decent speed, through quite a few obstacles.

The county doesn’t get any of the towing and storage. Only licensed tow companies and VSF’s can charge that.

So, your company is the one Double charging for the tow. You said that the county was making you tow to your yard other than going out to the customers property.

No, it’s the county’s rule that we take it to the yard so that the vehicle can get turned over to the owner. If they want to pay to have it go to their place of choice, that’s up to them, and they can pay for it if they choose, or they can get it out by their own means. The only difference is the county says we must take it to the yard first if they call rotation, which is why they are given the choice of requesting their own tow truck, or letting the sheriffs department chose one.

In Colorado we can have our car towed to our location and not to a yard and then to my house.

We can too, for every other agency we tow for. This particular departments rule, is it goes to the yard, if they call rotation. The customer is free to request their preferred tow company, or call a tow truck themselves.
