I agree, changing the springs will give you a better ride than putting a puck lift in.

I had a ready lift spacer on my 5th gen and switched to the carli spring kit not one bit of difference in ride performance is the same except for shocks so my opinion you'll be just fine with a spacer just put a good quality shock on your truck and save the money

What kinda of shock are you running?

Agreed.

Carli if installed right with longer arms and sway bar makes a big difference. Runnin the carli stater kit with sway bar not too much of difference. Got the tack bar and Synergy steering. Rode in a 3500 2010 with long arm and it’s smooth .

Dude thank you for this post! I have a 5th gen I bought used that has a spacer and trying to decide if its worth the money to get a spring kit. I still have stock shocks too. I am wondering if I should just upgrade to fox shocks and run it.

Do you have the ram shake and wiggle at 70+ too?

I have a '12 Ram 2500 w/ 6.7. I first installed a Rancho spring kit, worst decision ever. Truck was so unsafe to drive, it was crazy. I then installed a Rough Country level coil kit. It's ok, but I am thinking about changing them out and using the Thuren 3" coils. I just installed the Thuren front track bar, what a difference. SO my Question is, do you think it was worth the cost of changing?

I just can’t do it. 3inches of lift isn’t worth $2000 grand to me
@purepanorama84844 жыл бұрын
It's not about the "lift" height though. It's about the ride quality and ending up with a smoother and better ride quality than the stock suspension provides with enough room to clear some bigger wheels/tires and travel comfortably.

pure panoRAMa dude I spent $450 on a 3in spacer lift so I could clear 37’s on my ram 2500. Came with shock extenders and it rides near identical to stock. My brother has a 4in carli on his and we both agree they ride about the same 🤷♂️. The only reason I see to go with that set up is if your worried about quality. And I’ve had spacers on my last 3 trucks. 0 issues

What about buying a spacer and putting good shocks??
@extremerc764 жыл бұрын
Rich Aquila that’s the exact route I went, the aftermarket coils sacrifice load capacity for ride comfort. Thuren states theirs are 26% softer.. if I wanted a half ton I would have bought one. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure their amazing quality for the off-road community, but hanging a plow and towing/hauling I want the capacity I paid for.
@edwardsherman59324 жыл бұрын
@@extremerc76...nailed it ! Better going the spacer route imo. The lift is ever so slight and the difference between the two wouldn't be noticed.
@extremerc764 жыл бұрын
In the past I’ve left my trucks stock, but once you mount plow brackets on these new trucks you have no ground clearance. I’m not doing serious off roading here, just forest access roads with the occasional wash out.. bent plow mounts get expensive... still don’t understand why they make these TRUCKS ride so low.

Why do you make vids and never reply to questions. I’ve been a long time subscriber and asked many questions but you never reply.

PD Diesel Power did you need an alignment afterwards? If so, did you adjust the caster. Thanx

I didn't do an alignment.
