Sardesai is an idiot for suggesting sentimental solutions to fix a legal and communal dispute. Since either a Temple or a Mosque will definitely cause riots, the Govt should auction the land out to private developers and have them do whatever they want with it. The idea is to get political activists out of the picture. However, if it has to be either a Mosque or a Temple, it needs to be a Mosque simply because giving away the land will boost the identity of our Muslim community in a Hindu country. It is high time the people of this nation show our muslim brothers and sisters some solidarity. The Hindus have enough going in their favour right now. Also, if a Hindu believes the land is Ram's birthplace, then a Mosque or a Church on top of it is not going to change that fact, so let it go

There is no tangible evidence this is anyone's birthplace. Just mythology. There is tangible evidence that a mosque has been here since the 1500s, which makes it a national heritage. My knowledge here is not 100%, please correct me if anyone knows better. Shame on every Indian if the law can't protect our minorities and the common perception is that it's ok to support illegal demolition of a property because of religious justifications. By this logic, every single mosque in the country should be replaced with a temple. The first act of vandalism on that Mosque was performed in 1949, the same year the Indian constitution was written. The mosque was eventually destroyed in 1992, unlawfully Why do you choose to ignore good sense and instead be led unreasonably by faith? This is NOT a religious issue.
