Unboxing of the Prime Design rear cargo door ladder and installation.
*Edit I moved the ladder 9" from the door edge to center the ladder on the door. This opens up the door latch and frees up more view for the backup camera. Plus looks much better.

Nope, it doesn't matter what side. I put it on the passenger side because my driver side has a window awning on it. Also it doesn't have to be center of the door either. I think I moved it about 9" off center so it isn't blocking the rear view camera.
