I replaced bulbs a few months ago and now I have excessive condensation. What can I do?
@RoamtechVans
@RoamtechVans Ай бұрын
Check the seals on the bulbs and make sure the dust caps are fully seated. The bulbs should fit fairly snug to prevent any outside air from entering the housing. If you have trapped moisture in the housing you will need to air it back out by removing the bulbs and letting it dry out. Then reinstall the bulbs and dust caps.

Thanks for the video! Is there any wobble or rocking? I just installed a cheaper pair and was unaware of the lowered seat base, but they rock and feel unsafe. Gonna redo with these ... thanks
@RoamtechVans
@RoamtechVans Ай бұрын
They have a very very slight rock but you have to be trying to make it sway. I have no issues driving with them and feel pretty secure. I would recommended the lower seat base if you install them with the spacers. There is a hack where you can install without the spacers but it requires cutting the frame.

Hello - question: When I use your links below, the direct me a bulb tells me (based on the 2024 ProMaster I have in my Amazon garage) the bulbs you're listing are not compatible with my van. I'd screenshot it and include in the post but I don't see any way to do that.. Any idea why it would say this? The bulbs the links direct me too aren't 'exactly' the same as yours either. I would appreciate whichever advice you can give, and thanks very much for doing all your great videos - we love them and are very appreciative that you take time to do them.

@RoamtechVans

Technically yes you could as it runs on a 12v system but all the other components needed to get it running would take quite a bit of space in the van. You would need a 12v inverter plugged into shore power or a bank of batteries if you wanted to run this offgrid all night. This would drain the starter battery in hour or less depending how many amps is it.

I’m having a similar issue but, the problem is the upper door latch not grabbing tightly. Any suggestions on something like this?
@RoamtechVans
@RoamtechVans 8 ай бұрын
The latch can be adjusted "pushed back" more so that when the door shuts it can grab tighter. The issue I had was I had adjusted all the latches as far back as they could go but it still leaked at the top seal when sprayed with the hose. The only way I could get it to stop was to do that trick of expanding out the seal I did in the video.

Forgive my ignorance but, If you want the 600 watts, don’t you need to connect the panels in parallel? Otherwise you would increase the voltage not the wattage is that correct? Thanks.
@RoamtechVans
@RoamtechVans 8 ай бұрын
Yes you would be correct if the panels all matched in voltage, but in this case the 50 watt panels operate at 19 Volts and the 250 watt operate at 24 Volts. If they were connected in parallel the 250 watt panels would operate at 19 Volts losing wattage. Which is why I have to run each set to a different charge controller to get the full wattage. In the end calculation, wattage is still the same whether its connected in series or parallel. Watts = Volts x Amps.
@hmacks
@hmacks 3 ай бұрын
Did you connect the panels and series or in parallel? If you put them on the series that 90 V right? That would be the most efficient hook up.

I might create a follow up video to show testing amps and watts. I tested amps inside the shop but it wasn't on video. Based on that the (2) 250 watt panels were pulling around 1-2 amps and around 48v inside with my shop LED lights on. Which is about 48 -96 watts.

@RoamtechVans
@RoamtechVans 9 ай бұрын
Thanks. You should be able to get away with the 3" overhang as that is not too much. It would be noticeable though if you don't mind the visual appeal of the over hang as compared to a flush mount hidden panel. You could maybe fab up some kind of trim piece to make the transition from rack to panel overhang more smooth.

Try adjusting the latches, those silver U shaped pieces, inward instead of (or in addition to) adjusting the door on its hinges.
@RoamtechVans
@RoamtechVans 10 ай бұрын
Yes I did try to adjust the latches as far as they could go inward. It still wasn't enough to create a tight seal. Doing this also made the door hard to shut. You would have to slam them closed pretty hard to get it to catch the latch. Even went as far as ordering a new weather seal thinking it was defective. That didn't work either. This was simplest solution I could think of to make the seal touch the door with a good seal.

Nope, it doesn't matter what side. I put it on the passenger side because my driver side has a window awning on it. Also it doesn't have to be center of the door either. I think I moved it about 9" off center so it isn't blocking the rear view camera.

I find this solution less flexible for the main reason that you got to put the Ekrano near other devices, inverter, mppts, DC converters... Etc I guess it's a solution for vans but not for houses. Then there is the problem of maintenance, if the screen is dead...then you replace the whole thing => not good. An other one is price, I got a cerbo and a cheap Chinese touchscreen connected to it cost 35€ vs 300€ for the touch 70. I lose the ambient light sensor that I do not need... Go in sleep mode and is waken up by touch.

Yes I could see in different cases how it would not be favorable. I'm only using it in van builds so the distance from the electronics isn't that far away so extending a couple wires isn't too bad in my installs.

Nice all in one package. Lovely unit. One thing I must say. That will never be a replacement for the cerbo gx though. It would get way too hard with a complex system to have all the wires running behind a wall or something. Oh the cerbo gx does have 3 usb ports but one is for powering the touch screen and cannot be used for anything else. So really only two usable posts. Look forward to seeing it in ya van

jan24'24/2316h 🇺🇸 @ Tom18181, I second that. I'm not being negative, but the only thing about Ekrano-GX is it has 7" screen. That convenience can be, still, had through iPad 11" and better. $600 plus. hmmmm doubtful. Cerbo-GX is best. The main reason is that, the small wonder is so compact and wired to internet, all users can view on iPhone/ iPad devices, any where in the world. 11" full view as opposed to 7".
