The problem with most shops is that an oil change is a lost leader. Put it on a lift and do a safety inspection. Chances are it will need an axle or transmission mount, a bad tire, or something it would be good to let the customer know and possibly upsell

I’m sure. It is! Besides opportunities for leaks, or forgetting to close it, or road debris taking it out thus taking out your engine there’s two major downsides to any drain plug/switch. I use a Denso which I buy in bulk, but from what I can tell all oil filters are pretty much the same. It's just paper in a plastic cage, and I suspect there is one or two actual makers of them and they are all just rebranded. Never seen a failure caused by an oil filter yet.
@user-lm3ll1jp7f7 ай бұрын
I ordered it!! Plus a collapsible oil bag.. Thank you Any thoughts on if the steering wheel wobbles only when braking?? I took it to the dealer for oil change, tire rotation, swap serpentine belt, and check brakes.. and They only rotated tires, changed oil, and since I had bad wobble. I took it back and they said a tire was out of balance by 6oz. They rebalanced all tires and still feel steering wheel wobble when braking.. before it was worse when driving and accelerating and braking. They also told me that originally the could not swap serpentine belt cause it needed a "special tool" ... I ended up doing it myself. I knew they were lying. I really do not want to take it back to them again.
@promastersonly14197 ай бұрын
Almost 100% for certain a wobble when braking is a warped rotor. It's possible the out of balance (6oz out should barely be driveable) wheel warped the rotor. It's also possible that the rotor just warped as they do. Don't dick around with turned them, new ones are cheap on Rockauto. Centric or Power Stop are fine.
@user-lm3ll1jp7f7 ай бұрын

What do you recommend for the Jerry tank? Metal, plastic, what size?
@promastersonly14197 ай бұрын
@@dennislittlefield actually, what I would do is keep the empty oil jug. Next oil change, run the old oil into the old jug as full as you can. This will leave maybe 1/2 qt in the engine, but with 5 fresh it will be fine. Keep the new but now empty jug for next time. Now your old oil is in a sealed jug, ready to be disposed of easily and with no danger of spilling. The jerry can’s fatal flaw is that if it tips over during transport, it’s the Exxon Valdiz.

@@promastersonly1419 most Walmarts carry the mopar filter and and oil and best of all you can change it in the parking lot and they will let you turn the used oil over to them for free.
