I added the Fumoto drain valve on the Sprinter. Best investment ever. Drain right into empty jug with hose. ZERO mess.

Thank you,that was so helpful!!! I have an oil leak in my 2019 Promaster 1500... I think it's my drain plug... Whenever I get an oil change, it stops leaking. But, two months later,it starts leaking again. Mainly when it's shut off and in park

Use your leveling blocks to lift a tire, easier to get under.....if you have them. Back up van when done so oil stays on tarp, then pour oil into bottle on the tarp. Almost impossible to not spill some of that oil. Great job! I'm amazed how people trust these oil change places. The overcharging is the best problem. They don't care if your filter is on right, or putting in the right oil. They screwed me twice and i was done forever!

Well done. Autozone does not require the original bottle. I have a large black container I put a couple of oil changes worth in and they're fine with that. At least my local store here in Virginia is fine with that.

That’s actually a great tip and perhaps why I can never get 6 quarts out of it. I’ll try that next time…and try not to get burned.

Thx!! Clear & easy to follow. I’m about to hit the road in a Promaster City Van. Your video gives me confidence that I can handle the oil changes on my own. Do you always throw away the plastic oil pan or can it be cleaned up & used again?
@CubbyVanLife Жыл бұрын
It can definitely be cleaned and reused and that’s what I’d prefer to do but I just don’t have room for it. 😔

I purchased a 12 volt oil pump, $20.00. Suck out the oil via the dip stick tube. Eliminates the need to crawl under the van. The complete procedure is done from the topside. The oil is pumped directly into a container therefore no need for wasting an oil tray.
@CubbyVanLifeАй бұрын
@@williamjewels8180 awesome if you have room to carry that in your van. I don’t.

No I haven’t because I have no room for the required equipment although it looks like a good option.

But on rare occasion Ive gotten 5.5 in which case the extra goes into the smaller bottle. Oil only comes in 1 and 5 quart containers so you have to buy one of each.
