own a 2005 ram quad cab--it drives the best of all others in my book. PLUS when i need it i have 365 horses under my right foot to come alive at a seconds notice. plus i get 15.9 up to 16.2 mpg's not bad for a truck this big--and it has 156k on it. Burns no oil, transmission gets serviced every 50 k and it shifts wonderfully--oh--its my fav color--black cherry! think i'm going to keep her!

after reading a few haters comments--all i can say is you get crap in all brands--BUT i prefer dodge trucks--period--yes i do all my own , mechanic work. Still say im keeping my old 2005 quad cab. The one thing i do hate is the really thin dashes--i have personally put in 3 NEW dashes NOT dash-overs,[in both my sons dodges] and they aren't easy to replace--now i can go back to loving my ram! its paid for too!

That would be a fun job to. Especially when you build your own truck how you want.
@Matt-fd9hc3 жыл бұрын
Nope, nothing about working these jobs is fun. We are paid great, I won’t deny that. But after 5 minutes you don’t look at the truck. Its just a job to get done so you can go home. Line doesn’t stop, there’s always the next part to assemble. Easy to fall behind(getting in the hole). So you have to try to maintain your speed and quality. Not easy to do for 8 or10 hour days. Boredom of standing and doing the exact same thing for roughly 600 vehicles a day takes its toll mentally and physically. That’s why so many quit within the first month. Some even the first day. I’ve made it 23 years. It’s been a struggle and been very lucky.

@@daveyJ213 Don't know. I know from my own past experience working on an assemnly line you can't get away with not working, so I don"t think it's that. I wouldn't much care to be gawked at while I was doing my job either I remember when we had the Hershy chocolate factory near where I live. You could tour that place as people worked. They didn't look like they appreciated it either. I guess you don't know until you yourself are on display. Don't get me wrong, I would love watching the process or even better yet my own vehicle getting built. I just understand how the workers might not like it.

I think it is great they are making the trucks in the USA. I just can’t justify paying $100,000 for a truck. So, it takes 40 hours to build a truck, and say the average is $35.00 hr. = 1,400.00 a week labor. That leaves $98,600.00 in raw material, does not add up!

Only the TRX's are 100k. Most are 60k. Also, if we want to talk about Ford, or Chevrolet, or GMC, then what you said applies even more. Even the materials don't cost as much and quality is a bit worse, yet they are still more expensive.

@4dak883 жыл бұрын
@@Matt-fd9hc that's why they rotate them around quite often. it seems like a pretty clean job in a nice environment. you can always train your mind to think of other stuff while doing repetition type tasks. that's why weekends are for partying.
@Matt-fd9hc3 жыл бұрын
@@4dak88 It is a very clean environment. Rotation doesn’t help boredom. If you are on the assembly line boredom is a fact of life. Standing all day isn’t easy. Rotating does help overuse injuries by doing the same thing. Less carpal tunnel. I myself prefer to not rotate. Once you find a good job I want to stay on it. Rotating to a less desirable job isn’t a good thing even if for a hour or two.
