Ramadan ‘Open Iftar’ held in Birmingham to challenge Islamophobia | I Am Birmingham

Over 200 people gathered in #Birmingham’s Centenary Square over the weekend, for an open community Iftar event to mark the first full week of #Ramadan.
Despite the gloomy weather, the feast attracted attendees from across the #Muslim community, with guests of different faiths and backgrounds showing solidarity amid a rise in Islamophobic hate crime in the UK.
The faithful joined the outdoor reception just before sunset on Saturday (March 16), in anticipation of breaking their fasts, a time of day commonly referred to as ‘Iftar’ during the religious holy month.

My country Turkiye has many times proposed that we muslims establish a peace keeping force and have our selves established in bases in Jordan and the region, but Arab countries have so far succummed to foreign pressures and not accepted such an offer, as yet. To all the Arab brothers and sisters; without falling out of Islamic etiquitte and manners, and without endangering yourselves or others, please rally your leaders/governments, so we can get together and do what's needed to stop all this, ...condemnation, throwing an aid pallet or two from airplanes and posing for the cameras for the media isn't right, we need to establish a peace keeping force to stop the brutality. We need to show a steady force, we need to first unite, please don't just watch, be active in your countries.... ....and all nations can join in on this peace keeping force, from all corners of the world, all beliefs, because this is about SANITY against INSANITY !

If it is the only true religion in the world, then by principle u would also want others to embrace it, so that they can also attain salvation, no? But perhaps the thing is, deep down u Christians know that it isn’t the truth at all, since it keeps changing and keeps bending its knees to the evil forces in the world. But when it comes to us Muslims, it is the quite opposite, we KNOW our religion is the truth and the only true way to attain God’s mercy, so by principle we would love others to also embrace it, so that they can also attain God’s mercy so that they may also go to heaven. That is the reason, we try to do as much dawah as possible and try to spread the true message of Islam, which is to worship the one and only creator Allah (God). Just confused with the following. Recently learned about other Abrahamic religions. For Christians, Yeshua is God and not prophet because He is identified as Son of God. Yeshua is also the only human to be born by God's Spirit without an earthly father. God sending a prophet after Messiah is so confusing and is like a team playing semifinals after finals. If God wanted to send a prophet, chances are higher that He would have chosen someone from the people who recieved Torah, Psalms and Gospels? Also it's confusing that unlike Moses pbuh (Torah), David (Psalms) and Yeshua (Gospels), the religion of the prophet's family from Mecca at the time of the prophet's birth was polytheism. Recently tried learning but why it is like God is unaware that making Jesus as Messiah would further make people consider Jesus as God. God is also portrayed unaware of the fact that giving Holy birth to Jesus would further make people believe Jesus to be God. It is also portrayed in such a way that God is unaware of someone else instead of Jesus to be crucified would make them worship Jesus as God. Don't know about all this and absolutely confused. The biggest confusion is the way Archangel Gabriel visit the prophet in the cave is portraying Gods archangel to be so rude. Can't identify why God is making someone else instead of Jesus to be crucified?

I saddens me to see Muslims being treated the same way homosexuals were treated in the UK just a decade or two ago. No wonder the term Islamophobia came to be, or why Muslims relate so closely to the struggle homosexuals went through that gave rise to the term homophobia.
