Incredible interview. This is gold! David Godman is one of the best articulator of Ramana's teachings, at least to the Western conditioned mind. The biggest value here is the revelation that the English writings (or translations) describing Ramana's death experience are very limited. Once we understood the way Ramana described this in Tamil (or Telugu) the whole experience gets a much deeper meaning and makes perfect sense in terms of Self Inquiry. Absolute Gold, thank you for posting this.

This is great, thanks so much for posting! I have many of DG's books, they are excellent! It's such a pleasure to actually SEE and hear him. I've gone through 2 copies of Be As You Are. He is a real treasure to devotees of Bhagavan!

Ramana is my main influence.How radically(unquantifiably)deep are his teachings.But I am certain that he did not believe that only his teachings could take one through to realization as Goldman states here.Such ideas keep one from deepest realization..Its 2013 folks.Lets be humble and realize that there are as many paths to truth as there are beings.Personally I feel that combining his teachings with those of the Buddha are hugely beneficial if one is prepared to go beyond conceptual nitpicking.

It is tricky because the I is not always and continuously it disappears and appears again with every thought. So when a thought disappears the ego is dead but then it appears again.

Your projector is working overtime d.w.----and you are nitpicking and making judgements about some concepts you do not yet understand. You have absolutely no authority to make those negative statements about david and his work. Read your paragraph over and over to yourself and you will at some point see that it is a mirror and your finger is pointing at your own self. However....you are at least reading spiritual posts and david's are among the most informative and inspiring. Be humble as a first step and that humility will surely lead you home.
