He is the First Indian to go to the semi-finals in the singles category in Wimbeldon. He is also the first Indian to win the Junior Wimbeldon title. Indian TENNIS First Gen Gem. He reached as high as World.No.6 in the singles category in Lance Tingay's amateur rankings.

Ramanathan krishnan is still the greatest singles player from india. Beating rod laver and Roy Emerson in their heydays are pretty impressive. He still holds the best record in Wimbledon for an Indian singles player. It is really unfortunate that he is not in the tennis hall of frame. I guess he belongs to the wrong religion…

Tennis is all but ignored in india. Cricket is the only thing that gets financed. Very good players with potential don’t have the access to funding for international coaches, trainers and support staff and so these players will eventually give up or become coaches.
