The formation of the GNU is proof that we don't really have democracy in South Africa. The GNU is nothing but a coalition government, and coalition is something that the DA in the past promised they will NEVER do, yet they turned on their own voters and started this coalition. Well done on Ramaphosa (and I'm not even a fan of him), to stick with BRICS, despite what opposition he might face from the DA. Shows he grew some balls. We simply cannot do without BRICS currently. Those are valuable trading partners. Europe and UK also trade with China and India. USA and UK trade with Saudi Arabia. EU basically aknowledged that Turkey is within their right to join BRICS if they want to (without having to exit EU). It's mainly Russiaphobia that causes the anxiety of BRICS in the DA party (and maybe because Russia strongly oppose LGBTQ). I believe there are better future possibilities than BRICS for RSA, but that will take some serious waking up from RSA citizens. Currently I feel BRICS are still the logical trading partners. EU and USA are struggling to help themselves currently while they consume South African food of premium quality that the South African wealthy public don't ever get to see in South African shops. If you don't like BRICS in RSA and want to complain about it, then don't buy any Chinese products (and good luck with that).
