It was banned because the Babri building was demolished recently then so to avoid social unrest the government didn't allow it to release, but I and all the 90s born might have watched it during our childhood as this movie used to show in cartoon channels. It's the best made Ramayan film guys don't miss watching it.

I was born in 1992 and I remember watching it at a later time on television. Could be on Cartoon Network or any other channel, I don't remember that, but I did watch it on television. Then how can your information is correct?

Every dusshera and diwali we use to watch it while preparing sweets and rangoli with our mother 😍😢 those were good times. Nostalgia for 90's kid

The film originally released in 1992 and this is a remastered 4K version of the film. Sureet was right Stevie

This is being re-released after being enhanced to 4K. I don't remember if it released where I lived, I was just 3 years old back then. But I do remember that we had an audio cassette of all the songs from this movie. We used to listen to them frequently. All the songs were pretty catchy including the one that praises Raavan.

I had uploaded the cassette though. I still have the songs in my G-Drive. Also, the best of these songs was not used in the movie,i.e., "Ram Tumhari Sita" by Hariharan and Kavita Krishnamurthy.

I have watched it a lot of times in my childhood on TV, it was really awesome it's a must watch for everyone. It was made by Japan and India combined mostly by Japan. The Babri incident happened so our gov. of that time banned it from releasing. And finally it is releasing now, it is really great and I will go to watch it again.

The story of Shree Ram is still inspiring today. Shree Ram teaches us to never give up no matter how hard life is. The story of Hunuman tearing up his chest to prove that Ram and Sita are his heart is unforgettable. The story of Urmila who slept 14 years is amazing one. Her sacrifice allowed Lakshman to stay awake for full 14 years to protect Shree Ram and Sita in forests. And Sita's bravery is unbeatable. She did not allow Ravan to approach her. But, at the end, Sita was swallowed by the earth (she was bhumija, born from earth) and Shree Ram and his brothers drowned themselves (jal samadhi) in Sarayu River in Ayodhya. It is the same as 31 years ago but digitally remastered in 4K now😁 It is actually an anime film co-produced by Japan and India; produced and directed by Yugo Sako. So the quality was high even back then. SOme political issues including the Ayodhya land case and certain objections from political groups caused the ban. Though many saw it on "cartoon network" in India. I don't remember any British shows but Hollywood movies do used to appear on star tv network channels here in late 90s and early 2000s. I suppose some American shows as well like friends, bold and beautiful on certain english channels!! thanks for reacting:)

When this masterpiece was released i was not even born 😅 but it was always been on tv and the first time I watched it i was just 5 years old and i enjoyed it a lot even my parents and my other cousins we were all watching it together.....it was fun and yes children memory and one of the best ramayan made ever ❤
