After living here for a year, it's time for me to say goodbye to Ginzan and Obanazawa. Thank you for making videos on it as of late, so I can always look back it this amazing part of Japan.

Why did you make the decision to leave Japan?
@327legoman Жыл бұрын
@@mesk3185 I didn't! I moved to fukushima to do something different. Being an ALT was super nice, and the schools in Obanazawa were super chill, but the pay was horrendous.

when did it start to snow there? I'm going to visit Japan in late november-early december. Wonder if I could see this beautiful scenery
@327legoman Жыл бұрын
@@rinomoo7355 Around mid to late december but it I remember reading in the school paper that the snow fell later than usual. But if you want somewhere with snow be sure to head to the mountains. Where I live now the snow usually comes in Novemeber because it's high up. If you're dead set on Tohoku then I reccomend Zao. Plenty of Ski resorts and onsen.

Seeing so much snow is a blessing for sore eyes that only see brown and muddy green during "winter" (basically just extended autum at this point). I miss cold snowy winters so much its wild.

The video you did of this place at night was already amazing with all the lighting and snow falling, but it still looks amazing even in the daylight. I live in a place that gets snow half of the year, but no place captures such beauty as this location does during a snowfall to which I would definitely not mind walking through to take in the scenery. I would also guess many of the buildings along the walk are restaurants, gift shops, and hotels...all of which I would have to go in to check out as well. Definitely would be a whole day event.

amazing... sadly I've never seen anything more than a slight, short, flurry of snow fall in Japan even in mid winter trips to places like Nagano and Aizuwakamatsu, one trip in particular (2014) I arrived just hours after Hanada reopened following Tokyo's heaviest snow fall in over 40 years, but despite streets and buildings being blocked by 30cm of snow while Tokyo tried to get more snow plows in from other areas not a single snow flake fell, that I saw, in the 4 weeks I spent in Tokyo that time
