One I like about seeing these old cars, is the fact they take me back to the 1970's, and all the old TV shows that we used to watch over here in England from America, you know the sorts, Cannon, Ironside, Starsky & Hutch, Columbo and many more... :-)

My dad has a 74 talisman. I think only about 500 ever made. Had four seats. Built in arm rest in back. No bench. Had the 500 cubic inch. Yeah it had torque. But I liked my dad's 70 better with the 472. Way more HP and would burn allot of rubber. I prefer the older limos from the sixties over this. 75 was a bad year when they started with all the emissions. I would not buy anything made in that model year. But this reminds my of my dads 77 fleetwood as far as the interior. Except that had the 425 which was Cadillac's last powerful big block motor.

8 mpg, coating......why in that era the speedometer registerd 100 mph..my late father had a sedam deville 472 4bbl, 472, far more hp than the 500 and would peg 120 in a matter of seconds.....4500lbs.....

This is a late model 1975. In those days, Caddy made early and late models, of the the same year. I remember the 1975’s when they were new. My father owned a livery service, and we had a 1975 Caddy Limo. I hated the material of the early 1975’s. I forgot what Caddy called the cloth, but I think it was Kimberly cloth. but it was so hard to vacuum. The 1976’s had the same interior, as this car. I loved it. It was called Medici cloth. It was the strongest most durable velour ever in a car. I wish they still had velour seats, like this car has. I never liked leather seats. To me velour, unlike today’s cloth seats, seemed richer and far more comfortable than leather seats. Anyway you have a nice car. I wish I could go back to the 1970’s. I like 70’s cars so much better than new cars.

@stevenwoeste7428 Жыл бұрын
There are exceptions; I had a 1976 Buick Electra, and it has rectangular headlights. (I think the 1975 model did also.) Likewise, the 1976 Oldsmobile 98 had rectangular headlights.

The limousine had a glass power-operated partition window. The 1975 limousine also had a different key to unlock the right rear door and a power door lock switch located above the armrest for the right rear passenger. And the limousine had a dome map light on the headliner in the front compartment. Also, the limousine had no front armrest on the seat and the driver could not lower the rear windows or unlock the doors with the power door lock switch.

This car is particularly special for one simple reason. It's a 70s Cadillac with NO VINYL TOP! That's cool as all hell to see the black hardtop. I've only seen one other one like this (1975 Calais) and they just look SO much better without those ugly crumbling tops. Plus, those things were known as wicked rust traps.
@davidjames6667 жыл бұрын
Vercus100 the reason for vinyl tops on limousines is to hide the flexing of the roof that would be caused when the limousine turns. I guess this beast being so solid, GM didn't find it necessary.

I had a 1982 Coupe de Ville, copper, wide white walls, nice car, gas hog, I can only imagine this one, even worse, but they rode so NICE, and you felt so comfortable, and safe. I remember backing out of a parking space and turning the wheels to sharply, I looked out of the windshield only to see the car that was parked next to me rocking, here I had tapped it's bumper and make it rock, I never even felt it in the Cadillac. One of many cars I've owned.

When you video a limo, always show the glass partition between the front and rear seats. That's what distinguishes a limo from a 9-passenger sedan. That and the black leather front seat. Lots of people don't know the difference and call all Series 75s "limos", but that's not right.
@Fleet4727 жыл бұрын

The 1974 through 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 was the longest production car, measuring in at 252.2 in which is point two more inches then the the 1973 model. so basically it's a limo
@kevinlimo6965 жыл бұрын
The factory cars did not come from the factory with partitions as I have had a 75 and 77 Cadillac Limousine and they did not have partitions. As well as the brochures for both models made no mention of a partition even being available. Not saying that some of the coach builders didn’t install them aftermarket.
@TeeroyHammermill5 жыл бұрын
@@kevinlimo696 : The factory 75 limos had a factory installed power glass partition up to 1976. 77-84 used a sliding glass partition in the formal limousine. Your 75 was designated series 75 sedan-not a limo. Your 77 was designated a Fleetwood Limousine-not a Formal Limousine. As dlwatib stated, most people don't know the difference.
