Tatum and Brown need what CP3 did for Booker and Ayton. What Butler did for Adebayo and Herro. What DeRozan is doing right now for LaVine and Ball. What Iguodala did for Steph, Klay and Dray back in the day. Basically, some play making vet with super high stature in the league at the end of their prime. They need a guy they can respect in the locker room and respect on the court to lead them. The Celtics' problem is that these players are so rare. Al Horford is like a proxy for that player, but he's too far past his prime and not enough of a natural play maker.

More to the point, he's ignored the Spurs for the last 3 years of me watching him, even when they were more competitive. Last year, he said the Spurs were exciting to watch because they were young. He's just not consistent in the reasoning for the teams he watches. I know he's friends with Tyrese and likes Shai so there is reasoning but it's unsatisfying for me as a Spurs fan. I love Kerr's comments on Kuminga. Kuminga could go off for the season and avg like 22 but with that playstyle, he would fit into the Warriors' system. Cutting back the minutes to 6 seems a bit harsh but if it can help to keep Kuminga humble and versatile to play with everybody on and off the ball then that is an extreme dub for his career. Edit: it looks like the minutes restriction was not coach's decision, but I think my point still stands

The Curry/Ellis breakup Kenny mentioned when he was talking about the Kings was a recent discussion about the Cavs on the subreddit too. Garland is soaring and Collin is great, but it just seems like this season has solidified everyone's belief that Garland was better and may that it may be best to give him the keys. We've all seen that having an undersized backcourt isn't fun.
@samuelbrown47643 жыл бұрын
Hell no that’s dumb. Sexton is for sure the better player. He can average 25 ppg in his sleep on great defense and garland can’t do that yet. But garland is better for the TEAM, and the REBUILD as more of a pure pointguard with all around skills and playmaking. Sexton was leading the cavs to win early last year too. Kenny one of the problems with Charlotte is scoring points in the 1st almost every single game. And we all know how they need a center right? Ok but to me the MAIN problem is the overall effort on the defense. The Hornets for 2 years now are doing a horrible mistake that NOBODY seems to see. ALL the Hornets players are guarding passing lanes all the time and they are double teaming literally every guy on the other team at least once. They never play lock up one on one defense except Cody Martin. And James Borrego seems not to understand that this is a huge problem and it needs to be changed also the rotations are horrible. Everyone who is reading PLEASE go wtch some Hornets full games and just oay attention on how the players are guarding, double teaming and switching
@jacobjones84483 жыл бұрын
People love to hate on plumlee and the lack of a center but really their biggest problem rn is perimeter defense. Just getting absolutely crushed if a team has a good shooting night. I honestly don’t feel like the rotations are that bad, they just have to play good defense. Also NEED Terry to step up because he’s been awful ever since he got back from covid. I really believe in this team but they have to pick up their play on the defensive side of the ball. No reason a team that shoots almost 40% from three should be getting blown out.

From the start i new that derozan was gunna light it up just because the spacing with lonzo, lavine, caruso, vuc, and everyone else on the team. If you give demar that much room all the time its BBQ chicken, and hes also got that “clutch” gene in him. As a Celtics fan, I fully agree with Kenny on pretty much everything. I really don’t want it to come to trading either JT or JB, but I see that on the horizon unless they can get someone in there to get the offense flowing. Jaylen is really good on catch and shoot 3s, and Tatum has been getting better off ball in general, if they had someone to play make for them instead of having to do it for each other and the whole rest of the team, things would probably be better. The defense is okay with everyone healthy, I feel like if we could just fix the offense we’ll be decent again. As of now I don’t even know if we make the playoffs. Unless things work themselves out and there’s a solid run starting basically right now and some other teams regress a little, I doubt the Celtics even make it this year, and that’s really really sad. We went from being in the ecf multiple times, just needing to get over the hump, to now struggling to even make it to the postseason. This has been a rough season so far, and last season was rough too. Something needs to change

They can run through De’Aaron and he can score and play make some while still allowing Halliburton to do his thing. Before De’Aaron went out with covid protocols they both were putting it together and Halliburton with Holmes has looked amazing. The problem with trading Fox is if you watch games where he’s out, sometimes the offense looks super out of control and as much as I love Halliburton, they don’t really have a guy who can consistently hit that late game shot or get them a bucket when they need it. However I think they still need to learn to play together but they’ve showed they can and when they do it looks promising. We probably are going to be around a 11th-9 seed this year so I feel like blowing it up now isn’t a great idea since the one or two moves won’t really help them get there they should try and let them grow this season and then if next year by the deadline we will see.
