Compared to the NES Rambo this is a masterpiece work of art

NES game was put out by Pack In Video, and Acclain, not exactly a winning combination (Pack IN Video's name was only on one great game ever, Magical Pop'N SFC, with Polestar and Datam).

A super early Genesis release, Rambo III plays nearly identically to Final Zone II on the TurboCD, but with pictures of Rambo and friends, and better level design. Pretty neat run and gun - it's pretty short lived, but it's fun and it certainly finishes before it wears out its welcome.

I bought this game because the box cover was cool. And hey, who can resist Rambo?

Upon buying the Genesis arcade stick and renting this game. The second "Metal Gear" style mission is what hooked me.

Games used to do this all the time until actors started to sue citing their likeness as part of their IP. This was around the time that Tom Hanks was in Polar Express showing how close a CGI image could come to a real life likeness. Probably the last time an actor's likeness was blatantly ripped off was Steve Burnside (DiCaprio) in RE: Code Veronica.

Huh. I just got done watching Midnight Resistance, and it's interesting that the helicopter model for Blue Thunder (which was ripped off wholesale for Thunderblade) is not only in that game, but also shows up in the opening cinematic of this game. I guess SEGA was just going to get the most out of the art assets they had for that thing.

I actually didn't have this game? Which really puzzles me? This was everything I liked in a shooter. The slightly angled overhead view, a few awesome bosses, and great levels. 👍 I have to admit this game looks amazing even now. I've fallen away from the newer games that have been released. My only go to NEW game is MLB The Show series. I was a wwe2k fan but I really lost interest and respect for that company's business practices, especially during the pandemic! But over the last year or two I've really gotten more and more into the Retro gaming world. The Sega Genesis was my favorite system when it was released. I had the Nintendo NES, the Super-NES, and the TurboGraphx-16 as well but the Genesis was my go to system for the best games. Again HOW I MISSED THIS? That bugs me big time!
