Loved the first movie. Seen it a zillion time on vhs as a kid back in the eighties. To this day First Blood remains the best role of Stallone imo. All actors were just great and the story is such a haunting, sad and plausible story of social abuse ...The other movies are also good. The character of Rambo seems to be a very interesting one. Enjoyed watching your video. Sure brings back memories.

Excellent hommage. I'm 56. I watched First Blood 5 times and Rambo II 9 times over the last decades and after 39 years am I discovering here at 10:37 that Rambo was originally supposed to die in the first movie.

Rambo 2 was and is my FAVOURITE OF ALL TIME. I saw it when i was about 8 years old in 1988. Nothing compares to it. I still watch it to this day. The impact it had on my life has been huge. The only other scene from an action film that I still play over and over again is the bit from Commando where Arnold is in the dingy arriving on the beach in Val Verde and then gets kitted up. Absolutely sensational. No words to describe it.

Love the Rambo franchise..Stallone took a gamble when no other actor would touch it..It was on the shelf for 11 years but he hit the jackpot playing this soldier with PTSD..Love it

I'm glad the 5th one wasn't included in this. It wasn't really a Rambo movie in my opinion, it was just Stallone doing action. The character had become too social, with a family and a big ranch to take care of. They evolved the character too far, beyond what was his most recognizable aspects. The 4th film managed to take the character full circle, bringing back the realism of the first one and finally brought him home at the end. That's a perfect end of the series I think.

Wow , im glad they didn't go with the killing him alternate ending in FirstBlood. One of my all time favorite movies , and people said Stallone couldn't act , the breakdown alone is oscar worthy.

It didn’t look real. I don’t think Rambo would want to be killed. In the scene after Art Galt falls fro the helicopter he says, “There’s one man dead....I don’t want anymore hurt.” Although he is killed in the book, in the movie It looks obviously scripted and maybe propoganda and certainly not as good as the ending wgere he walks out in the trench coat flanked by police.

The portrayal of the character earned Stallone widespread acclaim and recognition. The Rambo series has garnered many viewers, fans and critics alike, and even though many would agree that it isn't Stallone's best film series, it still holds many positives for an action-film series and has been successful at the box office. Rambo is very Wolverine-like, from the Marvel comics. Nasty, vicious, has a loner, go-it-alone sort of attitude that doesn't make him a team player in the truest sense like Marvel's Wolverine, he doesn't fit or understands society's structures so both archetypes are constantly in conflict with them, as a rule. Logan's not a evil, cold-hearted

He's not a cold-hearted, .murderous psychopath like his former Special Forces black-ops buddy Sabertooth, and he'll always fight on the side of the angels in doing what he sees is the ultimate greater good, but like Rambo, he's a mystery even to those closest to him. Charles Xavier is sort of like Wolverine's Col. Trautman, albeit a more powerful, telepathic mutant version of one, but Xavier treats Logan differently than the other X-Men like lets say Cyclops, or Jean Grey. The only one true X-Men in the comics at least that might be able to sometimes get through to him on a moral/ethical Ievel and because he's one of the most religious X-Men (and IMHO, one of the least hypocritical) is Nightcrawler.

As much as I love it, it's so sad, the lyrics in the long road song, basically predict the whole series, including five, that war comes to his front door. And all the rocky movies are motivating with deep life lessons taught in all 6 movies and also the two Creed movies. Rambo, you would think only a person in the military could learn or relate and the regular fans can enjoy the action. But a person suffering in the ugly world of addiction and the constant war and the no breaks only heartaches, and especially if a person goes through many years of it and grows older, its a long road alone with no point in their eyes. Even if they overcome the addiction they more than luckily can't or at least this k they find true happiness with a person. It like Stallone said here it's a curse. Everyone you come in contact with you hurt and they hurt you. Anyone reading suffering addiction would know what I mean. But I think truly if you find a good person like Rambo does in Co and the girl in part 4 and his adopted family in 5, he can change. But in Rambos' case Co dies, the girl in 4 was already with someone else and his adopted family was killed and Trautman even dies. Now in real life in entertainment, Mike from Jersey shore suffered addiction and even called himself Rambo when he was using and looked good. He found happiness with a person and has overcome everything and doing great, He proves if you find a light and true love you can beat it if it's real. But it's finding it which as of 5 movies Rambo still hasn't found it. i really think they will make a 6.

The films (first 2) did so well.Well written and the way they told the story in the films. The approach...sympathetic "hero/victim" with heart. As Sly said...had Rambo been another typical hero that goes through "bad cops" Rambo would have been another "straight to DVD" film. Not the runaway hit it was. The films could have been mush more violent than it was. For a soldier to have lived through torture in Vietnam and then to be back in a similar situation. I think Rambo the character was restrained. Imagine being "Rambo"...were just being tortured being cut with a bowie knife. Dipped in a bond of human excrement...To know you're going through it again??? I think Rambo would have gutted the Sheriff's VICIOUSLY. Not to be "neat" but to just get the job done quickly. Rambo didn't break any arms. Snap a neck. Setup Claymores. Saving Private Ryan ad a scene that much much more visceral (e.g. knife going into a chest). I suppose they wanted the Rambo films to be accessible to more audience. As opposed to making it R-rated. Odd. Still no reference quality 4k BluRay set. :)

Kirk Douglas once said he was offered the part of Rambo but he wanted the scene where Rambo is killed to be in it. He said there would have been no sequels but it would have been right. I don’t really think he would have been offered Rambo because he would be too old

I know this is 5 years old. But for your reference Sylvester Stallone had finished Rocky 3 then went to Hope to do First Blood. He actually saw the finished print of Rocky 3 at the local movie theatre in Hope during filming
