👍 Never thought I'd ride a scooter as in the 60's I was in the UK rocker scene. 40 odd years later how times change. Just bought a Honda pcx125. Bloody brilliant little thing. Head down arse up is no longer my favourite position on a bike. Go to Italy the only cool thing to be seen on is a scooter. Don't want the top of your $400 left shoe scuffed by a gear shift. Happy style riding guys

Trust the men at the dealership aren't judging you. Their only real focus is making a sell (saying what they think you want to hear to get you to buy) and as for your confidence behind a wheel of a scooter. Well, the more you drive the better you'll feel about it. So take things slow and just get familiar with your scooter. First by driving around in your neighborhood or empty parking lots. When you are ready, level up by driving in low traffic areas with slow speed limits. Then once you feel more comfortable and confident ride around more people and heavier traffic areas. Hope this helps some.

I seriously don’t know the answer about hard-front braking. Your tips here make great sense but what can happen if you front brake hard on a scooter on nice grip dry road? As a kid on our Schwinn Stingrays you could make the bike forward flip/somersault hurting us badly. I’m thinking a scooter is too rear-end heavy to worry. What might y’all think ?

Only here because I always pass by scooters on my motorcycle and I wondered if they had to upshift/downshift and had a friction zone like us. And wow scooters are so much easier and forgiving lol

Thanks for your video Ramen. Your videos seem to have helped a lot of people who might be nervous about getting on a scooter for the first time however I didn't like your walk with it idea. If a new rider is `100% new then maybe this works for the first or second time while they are in the car park practicing but once they know the power of the bike they shouldn't use this again. One of the mistakes many people make is to keep their feet on the ground even at 30 mph. This can be extremely serious and cause serious leg injuries. It is better to find the bite point for your bike (the point when the engine kicks in and starts taking you forward) then lift both legs off the ground. Most bikers after only a few trys only have one foot on the ground when they come to a halt like at traffic lights.

Ive been riding a razor ecosmart electric sit down scooter for a year now. I got used to how to lean into a turn and balancing on a motorized vehicle. I bought a used chinese scooter two weeks ago and the learning curve was basically nothing... Its really easy.
