@@ftiland Does it speak to the excellence of his character that he remembers the names of everyone who helps him or to the detriment of the majority of other people who are often so self centered that they never bother to ask other people's name when they meet let alone remember their name?

What really impresses me is he remembers ALL the names! AND he credits every single person who has helped him on his way. His high school debate teacher, high school drama teacher, his accent coach, everyone. That is so important I think, probably part of why he made it this far and why so many of the people he worked with give him such high priase. Habits like that is what makes all the difference.

He was holding back tears when he talked about how he wonders if this was the life Freddie's parents ever imagined he would have and then relating that to his own parents and how they feel about him. He has such an expressive face, you can see every thought that is going through his mind. He has always spoken about Freddie with such respect, awe and positivity. He seems to have a deep connection with Freddie despite never having met him. I like Sacha Baron but thank god they didn't go with his cliched version of who everyone thought Freddie was. I prefer this version because it is backed up by people who actually knew him like his sister, bandmates, etc. Rami did him complete justice. He's a sweet soul and a brilliant actor! He needs to be in more movies, I'm sick of seeing the same 5 actors in every other movie nowadays.

SAM ESMAIL'S COMMENTS ON CASTING RAMI IN MR. ROBOT: "So here’s the thing. We auditioned, I’d say, over a hundred guys. And I thought we were in real trouble. I actually was contemplating just not doing the show, because we weren’t finding the right guy. And by the way, the guys that were coming in were great, I mean really good actors, they came in and had an interesting take, but none of it felt right, and I thought we were kind of done. And then Rami came in and he totally transformed the character. How so? What was it about him? Well, he added the warmth. The thing that I kept fearing about the whole [thing] - look, a guy who’s going to rant and rave about society and how it needs to change, and who has mental illness and is a drug addict? There are all these things to not like about this person and not want to spend time with this person, more than anything. It takes a really precise take on that to add that warmth, to add that, “Wait a minute, this is all happening because he’s in a lot of pain.” And there’s a forgiveness that you can have as an audience member when someone performs it like that. But that is such a fine target to hit. Yeah, he does it beautifully. And not only does he hit it, he’s not trying. It’s effortless. And when I saw that, I was like, “Whoa, wait a minute, not only can he do this, but I can add things and layers and complexities to it and push him in moral boundaries, and he’s going to be able to pull it off because he’s got that center.”
@MariA-uf8iz6 жыл бұрын
I started watching this and saw that it was almost an hour an a half long. I told myself that I would just watch the first couple of minutes, but here I am an 90 minutes later and Rami Malek has left me speechless. He’s just so well spoken and humble, and incredibly classy and knowledgeable. He knows he deserves this, yet he never takes anything for granted. I don’t think I’ve ever came across an actor who took the time to memorize the full names of everyone he works with. I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone who remembers and recounts on-set details so vividly. I love how he isn’t afraid to show how vulnerable he is. He’s so far away from the toxic masculinity we expect from most male straight actors. He’s won me over, and I want to see him win that Oscar. Bradley Cooper did a good job, but Rami DESERVES this more than anyone.

I couldn't agree more! I thought I was attracted because of his good looks but after seeing at least 50 interviews I found out that he's very consistent. Such an intelligent man and a brilliant actor! Very humble and grateful. It also amazes me that he can remember everyone he has worked with. He did a low budget indie film called Buster's Mal Heart while he's in Mr. Robot. It only shows that as an actor he's very greedy and hungry. He wants to explore and takes each role seriously. Oh God, I can continue for miles.... he's just adorable! Thank you for this comment! I thought I was the only one.

What I love the most of him is that he didn't get to be a famous actor just on one day... he started from nothing and had to work for years and years to get were he is now, that's probably why he is so down to earth and there's some people out there that wants to get things done now and if not, they feel frustration but hey! look at Rami! it was like an encore to the movie watching this interview. Glad I saw both. Rami Malek was absolutely the right guy for the part. "Best Actor Award?" There should be an award for, "The only actor on the fucking planet that could have pulled this off".

Thank you rami, I spend 3 hours a day listening to Freddie mercury, I feel totally in tune with this guy, I’m now 93 years old, and I lived in London at the same time, knew “biba” and all that, I never wanted to accept that there was some guy going to play him, but when finally I did, I succumbed, and I need to tell you, yes you’re a great actor, but more than that you are a very very beautiful human being, hmmm! Like Freddie. So thank you, rami, for being who you are. Special and great! Renata

Rami is an artist. He has a golden soul. And he may think that he can’t top what he’s done. But I really hope and feel that this just the beginning of all he deserves.

It’s 3am and I wasn’t planning on watching 80 minutes of interview footage but I just couldn’t stop! There’s something so mesmerising about him and watching this was like watching an emotional roller coaster of a movie in itself! I don’t know whether it’s that he seems so genuine and down to earth or the fact that he is so passionate about the characters/people that he plays but it’s amazing. The way he brought Freddie Mercury to life (and especially to a new generation like me that weren’t alive to experience it first hand) is unbelievable and I’d be shocked if he didn’t get an Oscar for it. I’ve always loved him but hearing the stories about his struggles early on in life trying to make it as an actor, make me so happy for him that he’s getting the recognition he deserves! Thanks very much for uploading this!

Seeing Rami in a previous interview led me to want to see Bohemian Rhapsody. I’ve heard some of Queens music but did not know of Queen!!! I’m 65 and must have been living under a rock in the 70’s & 80’s. So happy to have discovered his music bc I cannot get enough of it. Freddie was such a beautiful and gifted person. May he rest in peace. God bless you Rami and thank you so much for your talent and for such a great job with this movie. I cannot wait to see you in future movies. 💗💗💗💗💗

SNAFU Merriell Shelton was my uncle. Rami did an excellent job portraying him in the series the "The Pacific". I know that Merriell would approve of his work. To my eye and ear he became Freddie Mercury including the singing. What a great actor and person Rami Malek is.

I'm so moved by his humanity, his insight, intelligence, commitment and sweetness as a human being. And you know, I think that's what he was trying to capture (and he did, brilliantly) in his revealing Freddie to us. There's a moment, late in the film, when Rami as Freddie looks at his (hopefully) new friend, and simply says, "I like you." In that moment he so movingly shows us Freddie's vulnerability and delicacy of heart (unlike his confident performing persona) that it brings tears to my eyes. Rami, I'm sure you'll never read this, but since this wacky awards season is upon us, I'd like to say I hope you win everything! You've certainly already won our hearts.

After listening to this, hearing how emotional he got speaking about how grateful he is for this opportunity and how humble he has been about his performance being a culmination of many people, I really want him to win the Golden Globe, and I hope he gets nominated for (and wins) an Oscar.

Rami is just such an incredible human being. Watching him talk for almost 90 minutes is just a gift for this day. But mostly the part of him talking about Freddie. At first it's like Freddie talks through him, as if it's Freddie for a moment. You can even see Rami sort of wake up from that. That gave me goosebumps! But maybe more is the part where he gets emotional talking about Freddie, about the movie, about his own life. It's been so clear through other interviews that Freddie is so special to Rami, but this interview makes it even more clear. It's just so... Wow!! I don't even know the right words to use. But it's something. Something so special and so wonderful and.. I don't know. It's incredible. Seeing an actor care so much for the person he portrait. Caring for that person in so many ways. Its just the best thing and it only makes me love Rami more and more.
