I think also the problem is that many people don't know how to do this type of building and there is no place for them to go and learn the skills to do so so it will be very nice if you are opening yourself to taking apprentices to teach them how to do such a type of building.

Why is ram earth still expensive to build in Ghana where the 90 percent of the earth is all over. Comparably it must be 50% cheaper than block or brick of the same size of building plan. Can you explain please.
@EcotalkwithBrandon7 ай бұрын
Hi Nana, Yes there are many reason why it tends to cost more. 1.) It requires specialized labor whereas there are thousands of mason who know how to lay blocks. 2.) it requires specialized form work that would be discarded after the project. 3.) Walls are often twice as thick so it consume more materials. One might say there is laterite everyone but the same can be said for the sand used to make conventional blocks. 4.) We also need to keep in mind that it is only a different wall system so all the other same materials and components will be need to finish the home. 5.) There are additional additives required to seal the walls and make them both water and dust proof. Yet still with all these factors there is one important thing about Adobe homes that often trumps cost- it is better than conventional block construction.

@@EcotalkwithBrandon I hear you Brandon, I would prefer this method to block and concrete. but there should be a way to improve the construction method to reduce the cost. We had similar issue in the past with my company and now they set up a plant to produce the rammed earth walls according to plans, so on the site, it just erection and erection. it will take time in Ghana. Big Up Brother.
