1. The compressive strength of the Rammed earth wall is as same as the brick wall and the structure can reach as many floors you want as brick wall. 2. It is cheaper than interlocking bricks
@rogueskywalker76494 жыл бұрын
Er well depends really on mix and material content of moisture wouldn't it? We were getting tests back 5x the strength of concrete at most ,otherwise it was always about 3x strength of concrete..
@semmanstudio34664 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it depends on the ratio, we can achieve varied results by varying percentage of cement but our motive is not to have a wall having compressive strength equal to concrete wall, because when we add more than 15% of cement then it is not economical and sustainable

@semmanstudio34664 жыл бұрын
We will fill it with the same mixture mostly but that patch work will be visible anyway. So sometimes we will leave it as it is. If we try to avoid those holes then the investment for the shuttering will go high
@brianwang11734 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the reply! Yes this is the same challenge I am facing as I plan my building. I’m not afraid that the holes will be visible, I’m afraid that there will be a weak point. I’m thinking to potentially leave wood or steel in the holes, to use them for connecting lights/plumbing, electrical wires, interior walls, stairs, etc. but then wood will rot and steel will rust.
@semmanstudio34664 жыл бұрын
Theoretically those circular openings won't be considered as structurally weak points. There are other examples resembling much bigger holes in a structural wall, eg. Butress walls. I will recommend to fill it with the same mixture.
