I think Rammstein's approach was best described by Joern Heitmann who directed this video along with many others of theirs. He basically said that Rammstein stick their fingers in the wound and like around in it. A lot of people say they're controversial and perhaps at times they are, but a bit of truth shouldn't hurt anyone. Unfortunately, for some people, it does.

Yes, they have played it live there and the fans loved it. The live version doesn't include the " this is not a love song" line but the fans know the song anyway.

As I am Dutch, I also recommend amazing Dutch gothic metal bands Blackbriar, Delain and their ex-singer Charlotte Wessels, The Gathering (Anneke van Giersbergen), Epica and Within Temptation songs! Also German band 'Snow White Blood' is epic!
