Great song, thanks for reaction! ♥ Angst is one of the most aggresive songs of last album and it's definitely a song, that every Rammstein fan would LOVE to hear live... all we hope it is going to happen on 2023 European Stadium Tour 😃 The riffs are - just as you said - so totally Rammstein style, and the chorus is just fantastic! Not even mentioning the insane breakdown and Till's scream at the end 🙂 The video is amazing, quite unique (OK, what am I telling, every their video is special in some aspect) and the choice of Black&White with aggresive red accents is just genious, bringing up the creepiness to the next level 😎 Subtitles can be autotranslated to English - just a suggestion for upcoming reactions 😉Knowing the lyrics might help you understanding the message, however it seems that you managed to do it anyway. Of course it is Rammstein and you can always derive so many interpretations that people will spend hours discussing what they just saw. For me it is - just as title says - about the fear. Governments, lead by "crazy" leaders is pouring fear into our minds with use of media. It is not about literally "black man" - this is a german name for a boogeyman, and if you search for German's child's play "who's afraid of boogeyman" you'll find out that it is a fear of something unknown. This is exactly what we experience now - first we had to be afraid of covid, than the upcoming crysis, then the war... There will be always something new to scare the masses so they will turn from those peaceful "suburban dads" into crazy, panicked people, locking themselves in tiny prisons they've build for themselves just to have the illusion of being safe. What's funny here - in the mentioned child's play there was a calling "who is afraid of boogeyman?" and other children were to shout "nobody!". And here we've got the opposite, in chorus Till is singing "Everybody's afraid of boogeyman" 😉 Few more things to mention: as it is Rammstein, they didn't miss the opportunity to use ambiguity of "black man" term - thus we have these two women, who seem to be like refugees in a camp. Another thing is "what do they eat" - it's a candy, that used to have racial-inflicted name, something like "black man's head" and was some time ago officially renamed to a more neutral one. And the end of credits we still get the nice message - once Till destroys the TV, more colours are coming back with every hit! I would suggest something more lightweight now, how about "Dicke Titten"? But remember to use English subtitles this time, it's critical here! 🙂 Enjoy and have a great day! 😁

The candy was called 'black man kiss'. Now they have a lots of different names: 'Choco kisses', 'foam kisses', 'super dickmanns' or (my favourite) 'foam waffles with migration background'.

@@skloodzi There were two main names for the same candy - Mohrenkopf ("Moor's Head") and Negerkuss ("Negro's Kiss") 🙂 And yes, now there are many more names that seem to be less offending.

Schwarzer Mann means "Black Man". In Germany Black Man is the name of the Bogeyman. An old nursery rhyme for kids goes "1.Kid: Wer hat Angst vorm schwarzen Mann? (Who fears the Black Man/Bogeyman?) Others: Niemand, Niemand! (Nobody, Nobody!) 1.Kid: Und wenn er kommt? (And if he comes?) Others: Dann laufen wir! (Then we run!)" And the a game of catch begins. It is said to be part of the plague games, teaching children to stay away from/fear strangers especially those with black spots (plague). Rammstein is using the double meaning of "Black Man" to criticize the Xenophobia and racism against african and oriental refugees. Pointing out the political situation and split within the society (your neighbors) is far more dangerous than the refugees (if there is danger at all). The thing they are eating is a marschmallow-cream filled chocolate skin on a waffle which was called "Negro-Kiss" (but in german) until two decades ago, until it was socially banned, because many migrants confused the german word for Negro with the N-Word, because they sound very similar. Although the german "Negro" word never was racist but comes from the latin word for black, most agreed we don't need it, and if it offends people why not get rid of it. However some protested and saw their freedom of speech or the german language threatened by "false" political correctness, others, mainly old people where not able to change/switch, with no bad intentions. Problems occur(ed) when the young generation who know falsely learn the Negro Word as identical with the N-Word and racist (because radical leftist promote it like that) attack(ed) old people verbally and sometimes physically for saying it, accusing them of racism, when these old people are not.

Songs from the new album all had pretty good auto translated subtitles. Click the CC then go to Settings and select english auto generated. This one is pretty obvious. Wer hat Angst vor'm schwarzen Mann is a German children's play. Who's afraid of the black man (boogie man). The black refugees behind barbed wire rolls are looking in as people inside are arming up in fear against them, glued to their TV listening to that crazy leader in a straight jacket. The media stirring hate and fear, people fencing themselvers in, buying all those self defense items only to ruin themselves in their Angst. In the end as Till is smashing the TV, the color returns to that black, red and white (nazi colors anyone?) world.

The colour returning is symbolizing the fact that if you stop believing all the lies from the media and politics (breaking the television), the colour will return to your life. Red, black and gold can be seen representing the German flag and country. They are criticising right wing politics and the media for creating divisions and spreading fear.
