Donovan Bulmer this is actually way better, but its swans and not sponges :D And also not Brummen (humming) But Brunnen ( wells/fountains). Also not Augen(eyes) but Auen (can be translated to meadows/fields,I think).ALSO "Die Menschen zogen fort" which means:"And the people moved away" (moved out of the villages because everything was poisoned) instead if "and the people so far away. Wow you really made me discover alot of mistakes in the video, its actually pretty inaccurate.

Just to add, it's swans not sponges, "Schwan" and "Schwamm" are pretty similar in German.

This song will be legendary for ever, what text and feeling. As from what i understand the song is about The catafstrophy of tjernobyl and about some poison in the water? This song is about what happened with the Donau , in 2000. It's about the Baia Mare cyanide spilling. There was a leak near the Baia Mare in Romania ( i guess) and it reached eventually the Donau. Of course the cyanide killed a huge amount of fishes. And here we call those fishes "Donaukinder", children of the Donau. So here goes your theory, Freund. -But,I must admit there are a lot of German grammer faults.-

Arcelina Cecilio Da Cacerda Have to say though, it does present the Chernobyl/Pripyat disaster well as well.. Baia Mare was the biggest environmental disaster whereas Chernobyl is the biggest Nuclear and Human disaster for anyone who doesn't know.
