Rammstein - Hallomann - Reaction and Analysis

One of my favorite Rammstein songs! I love Tills vocals and how his voice changes in tone, depth and character. Tills voice is pure gold and the way he can bring a character to life is absolutely astounding! 😍❤️

As most interpretations come Hallomann isn’t an actual word in German but as you said he conjured it up who just greets people randomly. He does proceed to assault the girl as can be understood during the sinister instrumental part and dumps her body in the sea. The last line “sing with the waves” refers to the background female vocals mimic the alluring sounds of a siren, the girl will now be a restless soul haunting the seas. Very hauntingly beautiful song and has an alternative touch to a band that sings Industrial heavy mostly. Love this song

There is a slang term in Norway, Hallomann, which means a newscaster on TV. It may be that Till picked that up there. For me, it simply refers to a guy who addresses little girls with 'Hallo' from a car. I think the line "mussels with fries" refers to Belgium, which leads me to the Marc Dutroux criminal case.

I agree with what you said about the ending where he dumps the body in the ocean, it could also be wordplay with her "singing" on the "waves" implying certain noises to certain movements

The narrator teases this "Hallomann" character thoughout his speach to the girl and when then the instumentation and sound suddenly shift, "Hello little girl, how are you?" is repeated, as things get dark. This to me reads as, whatever ungodly action it actually represents, the Hallomann introducing itself, "arriving" if you will.
