A lot of people say this song is about the experience of growing up in the DDR. That makes sense to me with the lyrics. As always with Rammstein the lyrics can be interpreted in different ways. Just to be clear, although Till is the main lyric writer, every word is approved by every member of the band - they work as a collective.

7:00 - just to expand on that, its theorised that this song was written with the berlin wall in mind, and how it felt growing up being closed off from everywhere else. I always wonder if thats why Till leaves this specific performance before finishing the lyric, because its emotional/close to him? Love your reactions brother

Rammstein is known for his ambiguous songs. However, there is something clear in this song that is difficult to understand. It's about a relationship with a psychopath or narcissist complicated topic. Psychopaths want you all to themselves. Psychopaths and narcissists are the center of their world. Anything that endangers your partner and his love for him must be systematically prevented. It is no longer allowed to meet friends. You are no longer allowed to meet your family. But little by little. He will wall you up stone by stone. You belong to him alone.
