Vinay began his vocal life as a bass/baritone, gained fame as a tenor, and then went back to being a bass/baritone in the early 60s.

thanks for posting this wonderful piece, Ramón Vinay went many times to the Bayreuth festival, now his remains rest at the Chillán Cemetery in Chile. I was lucky enough to visit his grave and pay a humble homage to this great heldentenor. He lived his life as such never holding back his enormous torrent of passion that accompanied him for all of his life.

I believe Ramon Vinay could be low C to high B flat mostly but sometimes may go up to high C in Siegfried.

If I became a tenor without straining but have great baritone quality to my tenor voice and still have a tenor tessitura and bright squillo with full chest voice to develop a full mix or chiaro scuro and sing like ramon vinay in vocal technique both verdi and wagner I would be a heldentenor or tenore di forza but by 30 to 60 yrs of age. I am currently a 19 yr old potentially full lyric tenor or lirico spinto tenor who started singing in my senior year of high school as a baritone until I graduated from high school and moved up to college working my way up to the tenor range. However I sing in choir as a tenor 2 and most tenors in a men's choir are tenor 1's and the tenor 2's are high baritones but both parts can work for me if that's what nature intended for me by extending my range from low to high notes as well as what's on my tessitura or comfort zone. My range potentially is baritone low b natural which is the lowest limit of the dramatic tenor voice to tenor high b natural which is the dramatic tenor's highest limit with some extending down to low A or up to high C and that means B2 to B4 with roughly A2 to C5. The tenor 2's that are tenors are mostly in a communtiy choir and concert choir. That is a low tenor aria but that means Ramon Vinay could have developed a talent in choir to sing baritone or second tenor parts.Most tenors rely on C3 to B4.

Which note is lowest in heldentenors roles? The lowest note in dramatic tenor parties as far as I know is Bb2 (Don Alvaro from La Forza by Verdi, duet "Invano Alvaro") Are there any another notes in tenor roles below B2?
