The UAC Marchosias makes me reflect on the evolution of Doom mapping. It feels perfectly like what I expect a Doom style techbase to look and feel like, but with more detailed geometry and all the GZDoom 'mod cons'. It's charmingly familiar, yet reflects 30+ years of Doom's refinement. If this is a first map, the author has absolutely nailed it. Well done!

I've always assumed the word 'appetisers' is used by the US because they sate your appetite a bit before the main course?

What is a Marchosias? I played that one a week or so back and I recall a monster teleporting in behind me in that area where the first cacodemon shows up (and you first "acquire" a chaingun). Perhaps that one just never made its presence felt.
