Good to see you slowed down on the punt fest. The videos late last year into early this year were very hard to watch. Discipline has helped tremendously. The first hand with the A-10 vs 9-6 was a great example. When you were running bad, and playing bad, you would have c-bet the K high flop, continued the Q turn and shoved the river when the A hit. Playing disciplined allowed you to lose to only the river bet.

@@vlet5995 I was thinkin that also: like "with this board, what kind of hand do you expect will call your shove after checking on the river?" And really can't think of any that don't beat 2 pair. If that's the case, would a bet like 30k-40k there have a chance to get called? I think so. Give yerself a chance to turn that 5-figure session into a 6-figure one anyway. Edit: it seemed like he was trying to bank on his rep for punting rather than going with GTO sizing... but maybe that's the best for his total bottom line, lol. What do I know?
@firestorm76687 ай бұрын
@drewt1717 I think his point was that if he bet small, he might get rejammed on, which puts him in a tough spot since he has to call such a small check raise, yet Tom would be doing something like that with all the holdings that beat him. If Tom mixes in bluffs with his value there, rampage can easily get blasted off his equity. Also, by betting small with two pair he kind of plays his hand face up, since boats and trips would jam 100% and top top checks back given the action on the flop and turn and the connectedness of the board.

Rampage is a really good player, definitely better than all of us in the comments. He started vlogging his 1/3 games 3 years ago and was a very balanced and strong player. He gradually built a bankroll and won some massive tourneys. But then he got into hustler casino, won big a few times and then punted off over a million recently and for like 5 months has been playing terribly. This is the best hes played for ages

On that last hand, if you really thought you had the best hand and were willing to go all in, you should have just led with $50k or something he might have called due to odds. If he went over the top, you already made up in your mind you'd be willing to go all in. Hefty chunk of change left on the table there.

@@gwtbh.4206 Rampage justified his play saying he didn't want to be put in an awkward position if he came over the top. But he decided himself to go all in, once that decision was made in your head, you could value bet. Get an extra $50k or be put all in, what you were going to do originally anyways.

Well...I just got home myself now too from the tables. I flopped top two on a raised preflop with A-10 on an Ac-10s-9s board. Villain checks, small stack shoves and I call - hoping the villain will sense weakness and shove. And that he does...villlain shoves and I cannot lay down top two on the flop so call. I go home cleaned out as the villain had a set of 9s. Why does it seem that real life never works out like the videos where the bad players end with an $80k profit?!?!

I'm just saying, but I think Brown Balla checking to you twice with bottom2 is a good sign your image is still expected to be spewy. Don't expect most people to check twice that strong unless they expect the other player is gonna do the betting for them. As played though, calling with the A hits on river is just standard. Disciplined check-backs with blank-A-high that we just get a "looks good but is bad"-river. We really only lose to exactly what he had, a freak two-pair (flushes likely bet earlier streets on draw).
