More tournament study. This is painful to watch. The problem is that the main event is notorious for having to navigate the land mines that are recreational players. You're trying to use logic to navigate people who have no logic or a real game plan. You can't bluff a call station. They are always going to call. The best thing you can do is show them the nuts over and over again. There are some people who are going to always call because they don't know any better. Attempting to bluff in early portions of the main event is suicide.

Played way too many hands; why are you calling raises with JTo out of position in the first level? You’re also fighting for pots that aren’t that big, which means bluffs get called all the time. You can’t win the tournament early but you can definitely lose it early, as others have said, gotta let the cards come to you sometimes and be patient when the blinds are low. Can’t just hope to sun-run and get Aces ten times like the other tourney.

I like Ethan, I do. I'm rooting for him, but if you watch his vlogs, I think it's clear that his play is unbalanced - he barrels through with big bets when he's bluffing, and when he has something he checks or bets smaller. Gee, I wonder why on those big-money live streams he lost so much ? Maybe good players have realized the obvious ?? I know he has a lot of money from his 2 impressive tourney wins, but at the rate he is going I think he is doomed. I really wish he would get some high-level coaching, that he could easily afford right now, so that when he is entering a prestigious event like this, that he takes it seriously and is prepared. 33 ? Three-betting an early raiser with K8s ? Seems reckless to me.

Different from a 10k punt on a poker session....WSOP only comes once a year. "Folding is boring" is GREAT for content, but DUDE.... take it serious, and try for a deep run. MANY pros don't even sit down on day one (so they don't get crushed by 6/3 spades!) because of the variance. SO many factors go into a WSOP 10K Main Event seat.... not just the 10k, can you take a week (more) off from work, family, etc., AND cover meals/lodging.... LOTS of factors for the average Joe. But, while most of us would LOVE to be playing there, we can't. So, instead, we root for you. Those of us that watch you, almost religiously, could've rooted for ANYONE... but we chose you. And what do you do? Punt the WSOP 10K MAIN EVENT tournament away, like it was nothing. Almost an insult to the game. Still gonna watch you, just majorly dissappointed.

Hey bro. I like watching your videos. I’m not one of those idiots that like to bash. But like you said, you played like crap. You bluffed way to much, and you just can’t make those crying calls. This isn’t a cash game. When your chips are gone you can’t reach into your pocket for more. For that reason you are forced to play boring “tight “ poker. Play tight til you build a stack. You need to build a stack so when you get caught bluffing it doesn’t cripple you. This will give you time to see who you can bluff or push around. And you can see who plays only premium hands. You donk’d off way to many chips. Yes folding is boring but in tourneys you gotta be a good enough player to just let it go. Maximize your gains and minimize your loses. You’ll get better I’m sure. With $60k starting chips you can definitely afford to play the grind. One other thing to remember is when your card dead. Even your premium hands somehow end up losing. It must be some unspoken rule none of us understand. Lol keep up the good videos. Re watch your video and learn. Take care man

Props to you have for A) playing such an epic tournament and B) risking 10k... but This was such a painful punt. Do you know how many people would love to be in your seat? Out here thinking you're Phil Ivey trying to soul read people and make stupid bluffs on day 1 and instead you just get owned in nearly every situation. C'mon bro, stop taking this money for granted.

Nothing wrong with starting the tournament more conservatively. Patiently waiting for a premium. Unfortunate that it came too late.

Sadly the main event is more like a grindfest in the beginning just to make Day 2, so people are normally more nitty/conservative.

Uggggh Rampage like your play a lot of the time, but that pocker 10s hand, either you go all in on the flop or you fold. That's a rough call of 15k chips (IMO) Thanks for the posts always enjoyable!

Jeesus. Love your channel, but that wasn't about "things not going your way", that was pure punting from start to finish. In tournaments people tend to be relatively tight, and there is no rebuy, so the value of a chip isn't basically the same as in a cash game. In a big tournament LAG isn't the way to go. But as said, love your channel, keep up the good work!!

Trash. You try to bluff and hero call way too much. It’s the main event day 1 of 8, when does your opponent never have it? Never. I can tell you that a big fault in your game is that you bet big for value every single time. You may get called 1 of 10 times and that’s only because it’s a cooler. If you bet modestly you would actually get called 50-60% of times. That’s why it’s called VALUE. You try to get greedy and over bet when you have it and rarely get paid. If you bet big against me I’d be folding every time cuz clearly I know you have it and ultimately you’re not getting paid. Count how many times you say “Sadly/unfortunately he folds” in your vlogs. Too much.

That 10 10 hand may have been the worst played hand I've ever seen from you. Sometimes you get too aggressive and it doesn't work out but that's fine. Hands that beat you there are AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AJ. Hands you beat are 99. With your stack depth you just can't call 15k hoping he specifically has 99.

Phew, this was painfull to watch...you really need to work on your understanding of tournament play...it differs SO much from cash games! In my humble opion, you battle way too hard for too many pots. The 1010 hand, calling a huge bet on the flop for almost half your stack, and then folding turn to a brick, is a major punt...either fold or raise all in on the flop, but never call flop to fold turn in that spot with your stack size - personally I would have folded the flop to a bet that big. I can relate to your love for tournaments, but you really need to study the strategies for good tournament play. Sorry for the criticism - watch your videos a lot with great pleasure :-)

I sorta got this feeling you were treating this tournament like a cash table. In my humble opinion, you might have folded some of your hands when you flopped nothing. Example, KQ off, flop JJ2, then 6 then a 9, and you end up folding. You lost a huge part of your stack. On the other hand, who am I to give you advice? You're a great player....

Long hard trip into the Boulevard of Broken Poker Dreams. Ticket was ten grand. But sometimes you need to see what your weaknesses were, and save your pennies for next year. This time, everyone else was Lucky AND Good, instead of choosing Lucky instead of Good. But you got to the Main Event. Some of us has real jobs and budgets to stick to, and can't punt 10 grand off without "Accountability to Others."

I’ve watched you for a long time now and there was some really big errors in your play in this video. You were sooo lucky in the AA hand even though you got a double up, IMO you played that hand all wrong. The trip 6 hand you lost to the guy on the right killed your tournament and you should have been out the hand earlier. Learn that it’s ok to fold! Chin up and keep going, you are putting out some really good content and I for one really enjoy it.

33%+ on a punt, 50%+ on hero call, 50% on an under pair (after fighting back). Fine (I guess) when you can add on in cash, but every chip in your stack has the potential to double in tourney, so when committing these sort of %, you have to ask yourself "Is this the hill I want to die on?"
