This was probably the saddest and most heartfelt episode of Kitchen Nightmares I've seen, because the "problem guy" wasn't simply a dirtbag in denial like so many others, he was a decent human being struggling with grief and throwing himself into his work and drink to forget. Smart and tough daughters too. In situations like this, Gordon Ramsay is less of a food critic, and more of a psychologist, reigniting the passion that died in people and helping them get over their genuine barriers to success.

It's really not that simple. If you're in a place that gets really cold, a carpet makes sense. You also have to take into account how much noise the hard floor would make in a particular building (acoustics, other materials used, and so on). For a quick make-over a new heavy-duty carpet is way cheaper than a properly insulated floor. Style of restaurant also needs to be taken into account. Then there's the obvious that carpets can be cleaned easily as well. I mean deep cleaned, not just vacuumed.

I'm a builder and just wanna tell you all that it's absolutely mind-blowing that they are able to do so much work overnight. That work would take at least a full week, with painters, carpenters, electricians, carpet fitters, decorators and labourers walking all over each other and most definitely start a brawl by the end of the job.
@leonore33492 жыл бұрын
I'm sure they don't do it overnight. That's just for TV.

This is quite possibly the least drama filled american episode of this show. It was actually enjoyable.

Seeing Mike like that must be heart breaking for Chef Ramsay. I know him not only as a tv star but as a perso as I've had that honor of being introduced to him (over the phone) and I also know that he lost his father due to drinking problems at a young age :/ to see someone with both problems must be devestating

So refreshing to watch an episode without arrogance and denial, just some nice people getting some help that actually deserves it.

Satisfying episode, where people actually wanted that help and, hopefully, made use of it.

It’s nice that once Mike gets that push towards changing you can see how truly devoted he is.

You can tell that this chef is just a good guy who feels bogged down. His daughters genuinely don't want his feelings to be hurt. They're very comforting to him when he gets criticism. They have nothing bad to say about their father at all. Mike also responded pretty well to the criticism. No one likes being told that they're a bad cook, but after the initial shock of realizing that his food wasn't as good as he thought it was he opened up to improving.

Whoever runs this channel, could you please add in the title which season and episode each full ep is? so we can keep track of what we're watching

Mike actually can cook / grill...depression and drinks ruined his ambitions and passion. I can imagine that Mike was before his father's death a quality cook...not like the "wannabe" chefs in other episodes.

why would you ever have carpet in a dining room? like a rug that you can replace easily ... sure. but a capret? like anything spills and its stained for good. or like someone drops something stands on it and its squished in forever
