I have done approx 15-30 minute voice warm up everyday I’ve been doing for years whether singing or not and it works for me I may add on extra stuff later on in the day here and there to try new things so I am always progressing but it’s very helpful making a KZbin playlist. I do about 7 exercises

Okay, so to be honest you're the best, top notch, creme de La Creme type of a vocal coach I've ever encountered. You have shown clearly and evidently how to do immensely varying vocal techniques entirely by yourself. Now. Can you shed any light on how to go about safely hitting Dani Filth type of clean and distorted notes from the album Nymphetamine? To me, it is somewhat reminiscent of Vitas Opera No 2, which I used to hit perfectly as a small school child, stopping dozens of students in their tracks on thir way to class. It used to be so easy and natural, but it requires much more nuance now, much more than at earlier stages of life. Thanks. A huge fan!

This does work. I do this when learning new songs. I moisture and shower shape gives natural reverb.

A list of songs or parts of songs that I know and love that also satisfies warmup. This is the ideal.

I always warm up in the shower when I know I’ll be singing alot. Along with a glass of tea or water with lemon to clear my throat if needed.

For me, the whole singing thing got interesting after hearing a guy named Zayn Malik sing, and from their I tried to imitate him HARD. My mistake, imitating someone like that is practically impossible for me, so I tried and am still trying to get accustomed to my own voice while singing and learning to sing like he does without imitating. Warming up never really occurred to me because it sounded weird and I didn't want my family to think I was weird, but it does actually help quite a bit. I do the ones you've shown or try to do them and try to add in some humming because I've heard it's really beneficial. Thanks for everything you share with us it's helped a lot :D

After about a week of doing 15 minutes of drills daily, at choir tonight I noticed differences. I sang a little brighter with less effort, so I was able to sing longer without getting hoarse. Less tension. Hopeful that i will continue to improve.

Big glass of water first thing after wake-up, warm up in hot steamy shower. Continued gentle stretching singing to windshield on drive in. 🙌

Unsure about warm up, but, being an amateur who sings for their own enjoyment (and who thinks that one day they will "knock 'em dead" at some karaoke) shower time is a large part of my daily singing practice. The rest used to be while driving by myself, but that's rarer these days. Yes showers do seem to improve the voice, I knew it couldn't just be the tiled walls. Maybe I should get a steamer as an aid to voice/throat preparation. Or maybe someone can recommend something better.

every time you talk about 'male' voices you seem to be referring to tenors only. The notes you refer to as high, low, right between registers, etc. Seem to be a little bit high for lower voices. Am I correct in assuming this? If so, why is this the case?
@WideCuriosity2 жыл бұрын
I suspect, because due to popular music these days, high pitch is popular, so more will be interested. But advice that is applicable for a higher voice also goes for a lower one. One jut has to slide the pitch down to suit the individual.

Hi you did a lot of videos so where do i start and i have problem that is my voice is so sensitive So plz help me💗
@WideCuriosity2 жыл бұрын
Let's start at the very beginning A very good place to start When you read you begin with A-be-see When you sing you begin with do-re-mi Do-re-mi, do-re-mi The first three notes just happen to be Do-re-mi, do-re-mi Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti... 😄 I'm unsure it matters much. Unless you are paying for personal tuition, simply pick an aspect you feel you wish to improve (something fairly simple, not too ambitious at first) and check which video covers that. When you have made progress on it, chose further aspects to find a video on and add to your practice.
