I doubt if you will read this but, Brian, we are the same age, and you have brought me JOY for my entire life. My vocabulary is too inadequate for me to truly express my gratitude. I love you.

Art Garfunkel, how I've admired that man's voice and character for many years, how appropriate for him to tell BW's story in his own words. He lived the music in the 60's, is a big fan, and definitely knows about harmony."Rock and roll's gentlest revolutionary" couldn't have put it any better than that. I fought back tears at 5:26,the love pouring out from Dennis to his brother. They don't make rock stars like them anymore- humble, insanely talented, unassuming,beautiful people all-around.

The Beach Boys are not in the same league as the Beatles. Too bad because the Beach Boys are barely mention. They put California on the map with their surf music 🎵 which at the time was the best we had to offer. Point of fact Brian Wilson attended El Camino college but did not graduate.

A minimal but apt tribute. Love you OUR BRIAN WILSON!! thank you for a life of memories and the joy that are born from your music. My 11 year older sister than me, ditching school to take me to the beach with her boyfriend and Beach Boys music on the AM radio. The favorite was a 45, ‘Do it again’.

How touching it must have been to be Inducted with Diana Ross. They have so much in common. They started out in Groups, They appeared on The Same Shows, American Bandsand, Shindig, Ed Sullivan as well as The T.A.M.I. Show. They had battles with their Bands, Addictions and failed marriages but both lived to tell the tale. Brian's biggest problem was that looking back he was too far ahead of his time. I have The Beach Boys Box Set, and it's a Masterpiece.

When Paul Simon wrote ..."for a Poet and a One Man Band" boy he was right. Artie could phrase words so eloquently that it feels like you can Touch them. Nice job on Brians big night. Brian Wilson added some deep colors and sounds to uniquely American music and what is America's Greatest Band. When Artie, Paul McCartney, The Hollies and hundreds of others look to the influences of the Beach Boys you know they mean a lot to music, musicians and teachers. And they were a pretty good band too!

@wildsmiley You took the words right outta my mouth! And God bless Art Garfunkle for so brilliantly introducing his dear 'colleague' of so many decades. Paul Simon is one of the few who belong in the same category as Brian, and Lennon/McCartney/(Martin). In my book it's the BB's, the Beatles, and S & G. Each distinctly different, unexecelled, and unequalled. An inexhaustible wealth of superlative musical art at the popular level. Artie made me cry with that beautiful presentation.

What a story, what a band. Mike gets a lot of criticism from people, i made a video in his defence. There is also a message there from the Mike Love appreciation society of London. If anyone wants to see it then simply just type in the following words in to the search bar above.....................In defence of Mike Love
@RamtownMike6 жыл бұрын
Mike's a complex person. It's still not known why Mike went off on that profanity laced tirade when the Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame ? I didn't understand it then and I still don't. Our radio station has a DJ who has his own Beach Boys channel and he has studied the Beach Boys his entire adult life and even he doesn't know why Mike did that. That was an evening foe joy, celebration and happiness, but I guess Mike didn't think so and apparently he never has explained that.
@justmadeit26 жыл бұрын
Michael Santanello I think he might have had a few drinks on the night. One things for sure it was entertaining and not a boring ceremony
@RamtownMike6 жыл бұрын
Oh am I certain alcohol played a roll in all that and what he said. But in all these years since, he's never chalked it up to that or offered anything in the way of an explanation ? As for not boring, that's quite true and the entire evening was a blast, with his words being the only downer. But that's not how I'd want to be remembered if it was I and my band who were being honored. I would apologize to our fans and the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. I would also offer up some kind of explanation - but not an excuse, for my words.
