Join us for our first two weeks working on the ranch as we demo La Casita, a 1,200 square foot unit at the far end of the barn that we will convert into quarters to live in on Rancho de los Cerros. We also master the tractor, the zero-turn mower, spot wildlife, take on a 12-zone irrigation system, start cleaning up the property that has been overtaken by nature. And, top it off with a run up to the top of 9,100 foot elevation Mt. Lemmon in the Santa Catalina range near the ranch.

I think a light sage green would be gorgeous in the casita, complimenting both the ceiling beams and the warm yellow of the light fixture. Eric told me about the property, can't wait to see what y'all do with it!

You two work very well together and I can see how this project will be amazing. Love the trees. If you cook those thick orange peels in simple syrup slowly on the stovetop, you will have a delicious dessert you can eat with a slice of cream cheese or any kind of cheese. My grandmother would do that with thick grapefruit. Please tell Heather to protect her skin from the sun. I knew that was a very young hawk underneath , from the puffy white feathers. Normally when hawks fly with their clawed meal, if it’s another bird, it’s already dead from the attack. Since you are securing the property, how will you be handling venomous snakes around guests in the future?

When i was in my 20's, i helped a friend of mine in Arkansas on his property in the middle of Oachita National forest. Two hundred acres. Being an underground miner i went there to drill and blast him a canning cave. Which i successfully accomplished. He had no electric and when he called to get a quote from them it was $28,000.00 just to set the poles or go underground. He had worked on power plants all his life, so i told him let's build a dam across the creek. Then i told him to pick up a turbine from the jet airplane dump north of Tucson near the ostrich farm. The forest service ended up paying us to build the dam. But wait, it gets funnier. We couldn't use the pond for the first 2 years for livestock, which didn't matter anyway because they watered out of the creek. So now we have our own waterpowered generating plant that was making so much electricity the power company had to buy it off of him. Dig the trench and hook up for his excess at no charge to him. Him and his wife have a 10 acre garden that they harvest and can and/or selll at the farmers market. They raise sheep, cattle, why even a milk cow. Had many a summer night ho-downs there. If i was 20 years younger, i'd give y'all some of my time with the stipulation that after hours is my time. I'm a writer now, peace and quiet i enjoy. Unfortunately i'm pushing 70 and feel like 90🙂. Y'all are doing a mighty fine job, looks great. I look forward to your progress reports. May you continue to be blessed by the Best! Next week.....................

That’s a great property, congratulations, there is a nest on a power pole south of the house that had hawks in it. I work for the power company and try to keep an eye out on those nest to keep the birds safe.

Love the property! You can do it. I'm fixing up a 1963 old mobile home. It will have to be off grid, it has busted water pipes. They are doing another controlled burn near Santa Fe again, this time 74,000 acres. It is going to be a big burn!

Always look forward to seeing your vlogs and learning new stuff. Lynette Zang of ITM and Beyond Gold & Silver (two YT channels ) has mentioned several times she has a bug-out property up in the mountains of AZ for a community of 40 people. Would be great to see her doing an interview with you. Keep up the good work. 💯👍🏻
