Parents, the SCHOOL Act means that federal education dollars follow the student, so that if you choose to homeschool, those dollars would go to the parents, so that you could hire tutors for example. This is thousands of dollars!!

Living in upstate NY I can tell you that in the worst of weather our school will open, just to send the kids home at 11 am ... just so they can get their funding for that day. It's disturbing.

Every transmission has a chance of mutation which will just keep us locked down for longer. The longer this goes on, three longer we just stay in this mess. Going back to school would be hugely beneficial for my kids, but they've had cases every week where the kids have to fluctuate in and out of in person learning. It's exhausting and it's because of the idea that people who assume the risk is ok for them that this just keeps rolling on.

In rural Oklahoma, our schools have been open 5 days a week since last fall with very few exceptions. My retired school teacher wife subs most days and fills in gaps where needed. There have been no student issues but a few teachers have dealt with COVID just like the rest of the world. We have to learn to live with COVID not surrender to it.

Problem now is… None of the kids wanna go back to school!!!! None of them!! The Shy kids don’t have to go to school.. and so they’ve not had to deal with different insecurities or challenges… It’s much easier at home… Kids that need the extra push to get up and go to school every day… Haven’t had to and it’s made everyone very lazy. They are not socializing because everything is shut down and there’s no place to go… There are no school sports and school activities these kids have been scarred for life!!!!!
