Wonderful knives ! I got a 12-9 several years ago. Nickle silver hilt like yours, nickle silver "bird's beak" (IIRC) pommel, black and silver spacers with Black Walnut handle that has amazing character... been so long I do not remember the names of the shapes, but it is rather basic palm swell oval. I love it. Completely agree with you on the hollow grind.

I'm with you on the hollow grind. I don't like hollow either.

Great collectible...I inherited a Randle model 5-6 that I use occasionally in nice conditions. I typically prefer a 0 ground convex edge as a woods blade. Not sure about other Randle knives but the geometry on mine really doesn’t perform...

I do have my eye on a Japanese Katsumi Kitano...Convex ground ZDP-189

I also prefered to use a good convex grind for wood processing and expecially chopping. But Randall have an unique design and an unique history!!! They are extremely collectible

I would say that I am a collector that uses the knives I get, regardless of price. I have less than a dozen that I do not use.

I'm basically the same, i usually use almost every knives i buy. Of course there are some exceptions!!

@zoroutdoor92 жыл бұрын

Would rather have the stag go down not flat on the top . One thing I don’t like is when the knife comes bent . That is unacceptable .

Randall's are NOT hollow ground. If you look at it from the front you will see the grind is flat, not hollow.
@zoroutdoor92 жыл бұрын
That's wrong. There are actually some models flat, but most of them are hollow. This one is hollow, there is no doubt about it.

Should open the box nice . Having the original box ads value . Should of cut the tabs . Left the tape on .
@zoroutdoor92 жыл бұрын
That's not the original box, Randall made knives don't have a box, only a sheat.
