Randall's are true works of art, each one. I still have the one I acquired back in 1966, plus the one I inherited from my late, dear FIL. They will be passed on to my son, who cherishes them, as well...

Wow. Nice Randall collection. Nice Jimmy Lyle knife also. Hardly nobody has a Jimmy Lyle knife. I'm in Kentucky close to Gil Hibben's shop but I still haven't bought one of his either. But I found a Randall Made Model 16 at a pawnshop in Louisville for $600 last week. You can also purchase Randall Made knives at the SOS gunshows. There's always a nice selection at those shows. Thanks for your time.

I’m an older guy myself, and wouldn’t go for a 5 -6 yr wait. I sent them a message online saying they should consider wait periods based on age, making younger guys wait longer, in a tiered fashion. 18-40, 5 yrs, 41-50, 3 yrs, 51-60, 1yr, and 61+ no wait. Just my two cents on that waiting period thing. BTW I got a Jimmy Lile in the 80’s and broke it about an inch back from the tip. Bet a Randall model 18 wouldn’t have broken.

@WhiskeySharpShooter4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comments. The Arkansas toothpick with all the customization was around $1,000 USD. I’m not sure if Randall ships overseas but more then likely they do. They are very helpful and nice if you give them a call. Thanks again 👍🏻

@@WhiskeySharpShooter thank's for the answer👍🔪that is not a bad for such a beautiful thing of joy😁 why is there 5 years in waiting time. Are they overbooked in waiting orders?
@WhiskeySharpShooter4 жыл бұрын
Morten Trolle it’s a family run operation and haven’t expanded and i assume want to keep it as a small business but the knives are very popular so the orders have gone up through the years. My father waited 6 months in the 80’s and now I’m waiting almost 6 years! It’s crazy but it’s worth the wait.

5 YEARS?! Why does it take so long? I've always had a special place in my heart for Randall knives. I dont own any but after watching this wonderful video I think I may have to pull the trigger in one now. I absolutely LOVE that model 2! My jaw hit the floor when you finally unwrapped her. And is still agape as I write this. Lol. I just subscribed too. A very well spoken and edited video.🙏 great history of your collection also. Looking forward to more of your work. I also have a channel with knife and Japanese katana reviews and cutting demos. So in these times of being quarantined if you want to pass some time I would love for you to check out my channel. And if you like what I'm about I would be honored if you subbed and left a comment or two to tell me what you think. Us small KZbinrs need to support each other for sure.

They are hand made knives, read the history they have been behind in production since 1953. This guy claims his dad got them in 6 months? That's curious because the wait was nearly 3 and half years back then.

@@eac1235 thanks for the reply. I was just looking at the website earlier today. Lol. I am gonna order model 5 with a 7" blade. My brother is in the military and he is gonna order it for me. I guess it only takes 4 months or so for delivery if your in the military

don't give me that handmade bullshit, it doesn't take 5 years to make a knife.
@eac12354 жыл бұрын
@@MovieGuy666 If you knew anything at all about Randall or have ever been there(I have ) you wouldn't say that. They have been on a delay since the mid 50s . They receive hundreds of orders a week and have less than 25 people making knives. About 4 years ago they hired 5 more people and after 2 and half years they started showing their skills were up to par. Hey if you choose to believe it or not is on you .However before you make statements you should learn about the subject. I suggest randall madeknife.com . I know one thing they are the only company in business that have a 5 year wait and have no shortage of customers.
@KandKo4 жыл бұрын
@@eac1235 A logical business move would be to stop taking new orders until the backlog is caught up to a reasonable amount of wait time. I'm not pretending to know everything about the company, but to have multiple year production times for fixed blade knives is a bit ridiculous. It is something most companies would have figured out in 60+ years.
