Randall's Ordinary Restoration Update

As we move forward with the restoration of the John Randall Homestead in Connecticut, change is inevitable. The large barn that was formerly the inn, moved to the property in the 1980's, could not be saved from many years of neglect. We did salvage the impressive timbers from the building, and they will be used in the construction of a new inn. One day, we'll come together on this land to cook, learn, and feel reassured that people are good and that the best food is the simplest. jovialfoods.com

Thank you for this video. I am a 7th generation Australian, one of my ancestors was a convict on the first fleet, (1788) known as John Randall. John was a black man and freed slave from Connecticut. Family history research has revealed he was either hidden or freed by John Randall. With more research I now realise Captain John Randall did that quite a lot. After the war of independence my John Randall was transported (evacuated) to the UK where after some time he was 'convicted' of stealing a watch chain and transported to Australia. My John Randall did very well in Australia, he was given a grant of land, issued a rifle to hunt for the colony and went on exploratory expeditions. Thank you for restoring this property. Hi, I just discovered the Jovial einkorn flour. I made my first bread. It was delicious but I did not get the rise correct. I’m going to keep trying. My husband and I have been low carb for 2 years and miss bread so this is a healthy way to add it to our diet. Looking forward to learning from you videos. Much appreciation 👍❤️

That's great! Be careful to only allow bread to rise by about 40% - overproofing will result in a denser loaf and einkorn's gluten is too weak to allow a very large rise.
