Regarding the Fable/UE thing, I'm sure the Devs are confident in Forzatech and would have prototyped the hell out of it before committing to its use. No one wants to go through a Duke Nukem Forever dev cycle (though that was three engine swaps at least?).

I genuinely do expect a price raise in XGP, they did just invest $77 Billion in the last two years on content just in the last two acquisitions. BUT, unlike Rand, I believe there is no way that $5 is going to be how much they will raise it by. I truly feel it will be closer to $3. The price raise around the reveal of the "Family Plan" is a very good idea.

The reason why Microsoft is ok with unions. 1. Stability for employees ( they won't want to leave) 2) unions will help police bad work conditions. 3)cap to pay.

30fps for Starfield wouldn't shock me after what Todd said. As for blank planets for user content, it's fine but for me it will all be about THEIR handcrafted content.

It’s going to be extremely painful if it’s 30fps or 40fps max. I don’t have a 120hrtz tv to take advantage of these new 40fps VRR stuff. Sadly, I do realize that the cpu in the SX is still of a mobile type.

@@captaincrunch1707 40fps would be the sweet spot. But either way it's gonna take some adjusting to 30 or 40fps in a first person game. A third person game isn't nearly as jarring, look at RDR2, that 30fps is fine. AC Valhalla in 30fps is horrible though.

Hogwarts Legacy is such an interesting game. The studio making it is not exactly a world class team. It really comes down to the IP and I believe the imagination of what others think this game will be. I think there will be a willingness to overlook the flaws with this one, as so many people have been waiting for a serviceable Harry Potter game. It's also perhaps one of the last cross-gen games and it shows. I mean the game's eventually coming out on the Switch.

I feel like everyone is actually downplaying the pull of Harry Potter. Sure, there is controversy but no one actually cares about that outside of social media, it's all posturing. Hogwarts Legacy will probably sell around 30 million copies by year end. It's allowing millions of adults to play out their childhood fantasy of attending Hogwarts. It's going to be HUGE.

I think Hogwarts Legacy can outsell Diablo 4 upfront but definitely not lifetime unless it turns out to be some sort of Witcher 3 and Skyrim level mainstream phenomenon that ends up selling 40+ million copies lifetime then yeah, especially because Diablo 4 will likely end up on Game Pass at some point if the ABK deal goes through.

It's unconstitutional for any entity to deny due process. It was a sketchy statement to begin with, but the statement did force the FTC to allow Microsoft to speak their case with them and actually have conversations. If the FTC never allowed MS to represent their case MS wouldn't of pulled the comment.

Being unionized doesn't mean that you get better working hours or anything like that. My brother is union at a large airplane manufacturer and he regularly has to mandatorily work 12 hour days for 30-40 days straight. I have also worked at a union employer at one point and it was the worst working condition I have ever had at any job bar none.

Bethesda needs to create a separate studio for fallout, and one for Elder Scrolls, etc. Much like what CDPR is doing for each of their franchises. ( I typed this about 30 seconds before Jez said the same thing).

That's how you kill creativity dedicating a studio to one ip that has never worked out good for any story based game bethesda already works on 2 games simultaneously one in full production and one in preproduction they are already making these games with less than 500 people they would need to triple or quadruple their size to work on 3 games at a time plus dlc when you add new ips theres no way around it things will start to take longer and cdpr just created a new studio for cyberpunk 2 we don't even know how that even works for them yet bethesda did this when they bought studios Like id and arkane etc dedicating a studio to one ip hurts creators and gamers

They (Xbox) retracted the claim the FTC was being unconstitutional for one main reason... And that would be because trying to fight that point/making that a part of their argument, will make getting the outcome of this deal take MUCH LONGER. So, letting go of that point, will expedite the outcome of this deal tenfold. Seeing as it was mostly just a point to emphasis just how ridiculous the FTC blocking this deal is a bunch of Bull Hockey

That’s true but SX & PS5 cpu is still a mobile version of zen2 with limited power etc. If 30fps becomes the norm then I’ll sell my SX and build/buy a modest $550-$750 rig with like a used cpu that does rock solid 60fps & a rx 6600’ish gpu. 1080p60fps decent settings is a must for aaa

The things that worried me what that Arkane dev said, was that they are DnD players. Modern day DnD is Saint Row Reboot x1000; but it explains the tooney and the same Saints Row Reboot dialogues. This makes me more worried about Redfall, cause it sounds like its a game for that mostly ficticious & franchise killing modern audience. But we will see, Arkane has enough credit to give them the benefit of the doubt.
