🏁 Frankenstein Scores: Transforming a TAIYO Porsche 917 into Death Race 2000 Machine 🏁
Welcome to the ultimate restoration project! In this thrilling video, witness the resurrection of a vintage 1980s TAIYO Porsche 917 as it undergoes a jaw-dropping transformation into the iconic vehicle from the cult classic film, Death Race 2000.
Join me on an adrenaline-fueled journey as I take on the challenge of bringing Frankenstein's legendary car to life. From dismantling and cleaning every component to meticulously crafting new pieces with cutting-edge 3D printing technology, no detail is spared in this epic rebuild.
With precision and passion, I pay homage to the iconic dragon motif of Frankenstein's ride, faithfully recreating every intricate detail using an airbrush technique. The result? A stunning replica that captures the essence of the Death Race 2000 universe.
But this project isn't just about aesthetics-it's about capturing the spirit of competition. Just like in the dystopian world of Death Race 2000, where scoring points is the name of the game, my revamped TAIYO Porsche 917 is ready to dominate the road and rack up the points.
So buckle up and prepare for a thrilling ride! Whether you're a fan of vintage toys, classic films, or simply appreciate the art of restoration, this video is sure to rev your engines and leave you inspired.
Don't miss out on the action-hit play now and join me as I bring Frankenstein's Death Race 2000 machine back to life!

HELL YES! Now you need little old lady models to run over for extra points! XD

Great job. When I was a kid I had the Galoob version of the 917K. It only had 1 button and could steer in only one direction.

All kinds. I could edit the footage of painting into one video. In reality, it took many hours, mixing many different paints together, redoing many parts, until I got something like I wanted.

Well, it was a lot of painting, then repainting, and painting again until I got what I wanted.

why did you have to slander the poor Porsche, do you hate all racing cars with stickers of just the flat ones?

Kid me would've weeped as I was obcessed with the Martini livery but adult me gets it and if Corman had a Hollywood budget who knows, Frankenstien may have got a 917, it's acctually suprisingly close as the Movie Cars were really VW chassis underneath which is effectively what Porsche evolved from. If you revisit it I know somone did make a 1/25 kit of the custom Corvette it's based on, you could probably adapt or base the measurments on it to print an exact shell.

There is a Taiyo corvette, but it's a later version and not the original that the Death race car is based on.

@@RandiRain tbh even if it was the right gen it might still not be quite right as the proportions have been shortened a bit to work with the VW chassis.

I really like how you shakily filmed it from the front, keeping the same distance away as it comes towards the camera. Sorta reminded me of Road Warrior scenes hehe. Great job!!

Did you put some kind of clear coat on it? At one point in the video the car looked very natural, like it was colored that way from the factory and the next moment it was very shiny, as if a clear coat was put on it. It turned out very nice. Great job on making the wrong car look like the right car. I probably wouldn't even have noticed had you not brought it up. I'm just too unfamiliar with the movie.

Yes, just a clear gloss enamel. In reality, it took many hours painting, and re-painting.

@@RandiRain The green shades looked like acrylic paint, iow, they look excellent on plastic. I may have already mentioned to you that airbrushed acrylic looks excellent on plastic, like it came that way from the factory. I've never been able to get sprayed enamel to look any good. I've never seen any that look good. They tend to look thick and unnatural. I often paint old computers and I've found it works extremely well. In fact, I never even knew plastic was painted at the factory. While much of is not painted, but colored plastics are used, some is.

@@RandiRain I have several budget but hobby grade RC's I enjoy upgrading, but I also enjoy modifying toy grade ones, it's cheap and it's fun, and I know there are communities of people doing the same. I've been watching you channel for about four years, and it constantly surprises me how few subscribers you have for your wonderful, novel and quirky content. Keep it up, regards from England x
