Going off what I have seen in videos and my experience of the TND 720 And Dezl 580, Rand McNally has a better interface and options/ features. I've had my 720 since mid 2014 and it's showing its age. I'm looking for a replacement but I'm not getting good vibes from either brand of current units. Garmin has a couple of nice features but the main map screen is missing all kinds of critical info. I'm going to test my 580 again but it's always wanted to take odd routes. From watching videos, i find the TND 750 nore appealing. The losing gps is scary though, i don't have that issue on my 720. I do understand both have flaws and neither is actually great. I trust Google for the majority of my trips but obviously can't go off google in cities. If Google could release a truck GPS, it would be game over for the others but that's not going to happen. Not sure what I'm going to end up with Thanks for your time and effort to try and help others👍

@@18WILLS_ Thanks. I was going to ask if you still preferred the Garmin. I will ssy, the dezl otr800 does seem appealing to me from what I'm used to from Rand. The otr700 just seems like a newer version of my 580. I do like that I can connect my prepass to the OTR800 and I use the Garmin eld which works on the OTR800. Also from a quick glimpse of your more recent videos! It appears that you are still using the otr800. Are you located in Denver, or was that just for the video you did a yr ago? Thanks again for your time with the videos and trying to help others 👍 Now you have me leaning towards the OTR800 If i can get it to fit where i want it.

Just received this myself, but just wondering how to connect to traffic without WiFi or hot spot. Bought this to replace my 5 year old Garmin. Might just have to go back to Garmin.

Dont forget the TND 730 and 740 maps cant be updated (contrary to "forever" map upgrade they say). Also Dont forget the 730 and 740 have a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against them! Look it up.

I'm just bought a Ran McNally 750 is not Picking up GPS signal I took it outside to reboot it still not working I'm end up using my Android phone JPS

If you had to choose just one the tnd or the otr which one would you choose? I'm leaning towards the tnd550 but I'm reading a lot of mediocre and negative reviews on it and am considering the otr700

Me personally I haven't review the TnD 550 or the tnd 700 But this GPS that I reviewed and been using has its issues. To be honest with you I think Rand McNally satellite connection is not that good as Garmin satellite connection I recommend this GPS if you're going to stick with Rand McNally GPS units

@@18WILLS_ the tnd550 is just the smaller version of the 750 and the otr 700 is just the smaller version of the 800 and 1000 I'm just torn in deciding between the garmin or the rand mcnally I'm leaning towards the garmin since it has better reviews

I had the 540 which me and my lady liked because it had the option to show rest areas coming up but I noticed the 550 seems built a bit cheaper although same price the 550 doesn't give me the option to see rest areas coming up so I tried to take it back to loves and they told me they don't do returns on electronics only exchanges so I got the 750 but haven't opened it yet but hear that it craps after watching KZbin videos 😏.. 540 was a go but I couldn't find it at any truck stops

I have a Rand Overdryve Pro 7 and lemme tell you the second I saw how smooth and quick this was I knew I was gonna upgrade lol I'll keep my old one to play satellite radio

Ohh Take that GPS back & get a replacement. Before the warranty expire. If you would have had a Garmin GPS there warranties last one year and all you would have had to do is call them and let them know what happened and they would have sent you a replacement unit but you would have had to send your old unit back to Garmin. Rand McNally Exchange process is a little different

@@18WILLS_ thanks for your info. I drove with Knight for two years and their Zonar tablet had Rand McNally navigation and I used a Garman before that. I like Rand McNally way better. However this particular model the TND 750 is a piece of crap in my opinion. The screen cracks when you attempt to press the bubbles out and doesn’t even work (a lot of buttons don’t respond to my fingers). Too bad they can’t have something simple yet has the clean cut crisp feel to it like I had. It has to be like a space shuttle if I want that with the ELD, camera, internet, and CIA intelligence briefing sessions.. don’t need all that.

Garmen is a POS too they both can’t find there own azz an constantly loss track of there selves sometimes upwards of 15-20 minutes as long as they only have to tell you to keep going straight they’re kinda ok but god help you if they have to actually do they’re one an only job 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 I had a rand tnd 7 tablet an 750 an a garman dzl 5” an dzl otr700 7” I loved the rand 7” tablet tell it started freezing up an couldn’t find itself for 15min at a time an the otr700 loses satellite reception all the fkn time an yep I did all the updates all the time for both an no luck going to buy another rand an keep taking them back till one actually manages to be functional 🤷‍♂️

Garmin reviews are also really bad. Both dropped the ball these couple of past years their gps are faster but less accurate and not too friendly. I'll just buy a used Rand McNally and buy new cords on Amazon and wait until they improve fix their issues.

It's like apples and oranges both have side effects but it bottoms out to what you are willing to deal with and what you are looking for in a GPS.
