My dad owned One of the boats that they said brought drugs from vene to Carli Bay...I was 8-9 years old,but for certain that the boat never did anything like that at all. They lost the case because we had photo evidence of the boat being on land when it was said to be smuggling drugs....I now realize it was probably one of the main reasons he was not convicted....

During the 70's, 80's and 90's drug running was very rampant in Trinidad not to mention drug related killings. It was a known fact among citizens that many top business men and politicians were up to their necks in the drug trade. In reality, many of the wealthy people in Trinidad presently owe their wealth to participation in the drug trade. The fact that Burrows lasted as long as he did is because of his tenacity and his ability to get in front of whatever they were able to trow at him. But, you can only dodge those "bullets" for so long.
