I've had the same pair of Randolph aviators for 15 years and they travel with me everywhere I go. About 3-4 years ago, I sent them in as the nose pieces had finally worn out and the plastic shrouds on the bayonets had become unsightly after years of sweat and extensive use. I figured it wouldn't hurt to find out if anything could be done before I purchased another pair. Randolph replaced the bayonets, the nose pieces and polished the scratches out of the lenses and returned them to me free of charge. I have since purchased 2 more pair of different styled sunglasses from Randolph and will not wear any other brand. Don't ever change what you do.

Wow. What integrity! That's what I call commitment to quality and to the consumers. I wish I could afford a pair, but where I live (india) they easily go up to over $200 as opposed to the $50-$60 price tag in the US. I was going to ask a friend to get me a pair when he came back from vacation, but since hearing your story, I'm gonna ask him to get me 3!

@@Murtagh653 I may have had them mistaken with American optical at the time of writing my previous comment. I still have those, over three years going strong. They're also really good value for money. Better than shelling out $50-$80 for a pair of raybans every year. As far as I know, they're still at the $70 mark, but I distinctly remember REs going for less than $150. I hear you can buy a pair second hand and send them back in for any repair work that needs to be done just as op did with his own pair. These are good companies and you need to realize you're only paying 2-4 times the price for 20 times the product. If you had to judge them by the feel of the arms alone, you couldn't mistake an AO or RE for a modern Rayban. Gonna get a new pair and have them TiN (titanium nitride) coated. Buddy recently had it done for the bolt carrier of his AR.

@@varun009 american optical are 180 for plastic lenses and 240 for glass lenses on their website. maybe they are good companies, but unfortunately they have followed along with luxotticas artificial jacking up of the prices. there is nothing in these glasses or any glasses, not labour or materials, that makes them worth over 150 dollars. i got a few pairs of aviators for around 40 AUD each, just the cancer council brand so it's not a designer or anything, and i don't doubt these will last me just as long as AO or RE if i take care of them. i'd love to get AO or RE and have some glass lenses but unfortunately it is just not worth it. i saw an interview with the luxottica president and he said some crap about how the glasses are worth as much as people are willing to pay, which is ridiculous but i guess he was not wrong.

I’ve been proudly wearing Randolph Aviators since 1980 when my first pair was procured while in the military. They’ve ALWAYS stood by their lifetime warranty, and have always provided replacements that were of excellent quality - if anything their quality has improved with time, and that’s a tough act because they’ve been outstanding as long as I’ve worn them.

Got my first pair of Randolph sunglasses last week after wearing nothing but Oakley's for 12 years (I bought 4 pairs of sunglasses and 1 pair of prescription glasses from them). Looking forward to see how they compare, so far, the quality looks solid and I was impressed by the packaging, it shows a lot of attention to detail, such as putting a plastic sleeve on one of the temple bayonets to prevent it from touching the glass.

My father's name is Randolph. He was a courageous man who raised me alone with no one to help him. He passed away from cancer in 2004. Randolph means protector. That is my dad all the way. I am going to buy your sunglasses. Dad also made handmade jewelry from hand with files and pliers and iron tools. These beautiful Randolph sunglasses remind me of him. This was a great video. Glad to see y'all finally made it to youtube. I just bought a pair of Aviators from my local pilot shoppe and wow. I feel like I'm some sort of pilot when I am driving around in my car. It would be nice if y'all could get some footage of your glasses in action. Also, some pilot testimonials would be interesting. A ton of people come to youtube trying to find this sort of stuff before they buy.

Best sunglasses ever. Have the P3 in Rose Gold and the Aviator in Gold, incredible pairs of sunglasses with unsurpassed quality. I've spent more on "designer" shades and they're nowhere near as optically perfect or robust in frame design as Randolph. Never been disappointed by one of their products, in face quite the opposite.

I heard there was a fight in the company between two of the family members who own Randolph and one of them left. Ever since, they brought in someone new and Randolph has gone through some changes. I hope they don't ruin the company. Also, please bring back the Michael Bastian collection!

I have the Aviator Rx frames. Please explain how the lenses is cut with the clear plastic pattern that comes with the frames vs the older machine pattern that was used. You see people with the Aviator frames that look like they used a hand file to fit the Rx lenses in the frame...

I like Randolph but the price has sky rocketed. You used to be able to totally customize the glasses. I used to get cable temples on the classic aviator. I wish they would bring that back.

Hi, Randolph Engineering. I bought a pair of Aviators 23k gold plated with bayonet template and I would like to know how can I clean them? I bought them from a optical shop from Brussels, Belgium and I'm from Romania. The sweat or something else got under the plastic surrounding the bayonet and got a green color around the metal template. Do you have any tutorials how to clean this type of templates? I really love my glasses. Thank you!

Im a GA pilot from Australia and I will be buying a pair in a week or so. The main reason I want to move on from my ray bans to Randolph is because I know they're 100% American made and I will be supporting American jobs. You better not be moving your manufacturing anywhere else!

Great glasses but too heavy. Perfect for looking good on a short trip in your car or running errands for an hour. However, DO NOT try and wear these all day in the sun. Don't take them to an amusement park or to the beach for several hours. They are way to heavy and become uncomfortable to the point you have to take them off. When you fist put them on they feel solid and high quality and it's hard to imagine they will become tortuously painful, but take my word for it, they're too heavy. They are only good for an hour or two at the most. I eventually stopped wearing them.
