I don't know why his death was tragic or unexpected - he died he was 89 and pretty much had his health up to the final years. He retired in 1962 and died in 1987 as one of the richest Hollywood actors. He was my favorite western star.

Mine too, I don't think "The Duke" could hold a candle to him in Westerns. He was quiet, talked with his eyes more than his mouth, got the job done and had such a pleasant voice even when he was upset. Loved Randy!

Mine as well. JW made more movies. I still liked them both as actors. War or westerns. The Blazing Saddles call out, super fun. Clint Eastwood, outlives them both. All three of them, the best three. Audie Murphy#4. For War and westerns. For both. A #5 would be a tough pick. For both War movies and Westerns? Maybe Kirk Douglas. All crossovers. In the 40s and 50s.

Randolph Scott Is my favorite Western actor. He has swagger and humor and a mean streak. I have watch and collected most of his westerns for early his early days to his later westerns Ten Wanted Men, Buchanan Rides Alone, Bounty Hunter and Tall T are some of my favorites. The are other great Western stars John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, James Stewart, but to me, no one was greater than Randolph Scott. His movies showdown the glamours to the gritty to the man just wanting to own his on spread with a seed bull and a couple of cattle.

He was in grest westerns and how we grew up watching them at the movies. Im 80 years old,and back then we went to the movies on Sundays, we were able to see two full length movies, coming attractions for the next week and loony tune cartoons..At the time it was a cheap wsy for kids to see movies.

I will never believe he was gay, according to his son Christopher that wrote a book about his dad. He said he had never heard the gossip about his dad. He happen to be in a grocery store and read the tabloid about his dad. He writes that he was able to speak to some people that were still around and was around his dad a lot, they all denied this about his dad. He even wrote about asking his mother about it and she confirmed none of the gossip was true. She had scrap books with a lot of the pictures that people are seeing these days. So this is the reason I say I don't believe it. All of this stemed from someone wanting to make money and try to make a name for themselves. Shame on these people.

In my experience I’ve never known or heard of anyone who didn’t have a dark side, along with trial’s and troubles in life. The Devil doesn’t spare anyone, some just have it worse than others. But watching this video, it looked like Randolph Scott was a rare exception, I’ve never heard of such a blessed life, right from the beginning to the end, everything went his way, with everything this World had to offer, riches, fame, possessions, and good health to enjoy them. It looked like God must’ve been so pleased with him , that he blessed him with everything, and put a hedge around him, to protect him from everything. It seemed that it was either that, or like someone who had made a pact with the Devil. But then we find out at the end, that he wasn’t an exception, and was no different than anyone else. And he was hit hard with the most powerful weapon the Devil has in his toolbox, that neither the wisest man who ever lived, nor the wealthiest, or the most powerful, nor the strongest man who ever was, was any match, with the slightest chance, whenever any sort of sexual temptation’s became a Satanic Stronghold in they’re life. And it doesn’t matter what type it is, or that one is worse than another, so that no one has a right to boast that their sin isn’t as bad as someone else’s. And given the right set of circumstances, we’re all capable of far worse than anything we may have done, or what we may think we couldn’t ever do.

Sorry to break the news about whether Randolph Scott was gay or not, but from 1993 to 1995 I lived on West 14th Street one block away from the Lesbian and Center on West 13th Street and got to meet quite a few gay men. Among my gay friends was a former drag queen, Mr. Scott's last boyfriend. The revelation was quite a shock to me because Scott was probably my greatest role model growing up and until that point, I hadn't even considered what his sexual preferences were. While there I learned quite a bit about famous people and the secrets kept from the public. How gay men dd love to talk with each other and me, of course.

If Scott was or wasn't gay is not big deal either way. If he was gay there's nothing disgusting or sinful about it. What's disgusting and tragic is the homophobia that exists in the country posing as self-.righteous religion. A homophobia that provokes discrimination and violence toward LBGTQ people. A homophobia rooted in one's own sexual insecurities. If someone is truly comfortable with his/her heterosexuality, there's no need to condemn someone else. “The lady doth protest too much, me thinks.”

WTF is so damned tragic about a man dying at the age of 89? Especially when he had the privilege of being Cary Grant's lover for some 12 years!

Whatever it was is none of anybody else’s business. Why are we doing a documentary to try to reveal a love life that we don’t even existed this is intrusion Let them rest in peace

Randolph Scott was a good actor who entertained people for many years. Old school who was the backbone of Hollywood. Today's actors are not a patch on Randolph Scott. Most new actors are vain self centured people who think that they are the best thing since sliced bread . Scott is a good actor that is why his films are still being played on tv in 2024.

An Uncovered Files.

He was born in 1989 but interestingly appeared in movies in the 1940s. This is what you get when your voiceover is a bot.
