My daughters' school resource officer was amazing as well. He was always good to the students even if he was called to handle them. Never yelled, never arrested them. He'd sit in the quad with them and talk for as long as they needed. He's a good guy.

Good on your resource officer. Though the hardened oldest ones might be problematic, I don’t think any young child needs to be arrested. Acting out out is covering a hurt. If the parents can’t address it, professionals need to instruct parents so that they can. We are facing a mess, and not addressing the root problems. AND, ALL OF YOU CROOKED POLITICIANS..how and why did some of our older children become so enraged and open to crime involvement?

My children’s middle school principal was similar. She explained to me that tweens have such a hard time with their emotions that she allowed them to come sit with her and vent…yell, cry, complain. They were allowed to ask to see her any time. Her thought being, if they could vent that energy/emotion with her, it won’t happen in class, and they won’t get in trouble.

i had a teacher who paid out of pocket for class trips some teachers are a godsend my doggie nearly choked to death i had to save him he was gone but i brought him back

Seeing that little one have so much fun with her grandpa got me. I've lost both grandparents that I was extremely close to . To anyone here that has the honor of still having their grandparents around spend as much time as you can with them ,believe me it can be gone very fast

Gandpa and grand-daughter was my favorite part too. Especially given that when grandpa was young, such a thing as having her as his grand-daughter would have made a huge outrage. Seeing them together like that gives me hope for the future.

When we were homeless for afew years but my husband was homeless for 8 or 9 years . Now we've been off the streets since 2009, it's no where anyone one should be but their is and we've meet alot of great people on the streets or peoples dedicated their free time to cook meals or hot drinks n gathering up close and walking all around great Victoria area handing out food n clothes for the homeless god bless them all

In November I took a tour of a local police station for a college project. The officer who gave us a tour not only told us he enjoys doing that because it connects the public with the officers, but he gave me a lead on a possible future job in their filing department. I’m not afraid of police anymore.

I love the one towards the end with the Grandpa and his granddaughter. My husband and I absolutely ADORE our Granddaughter and would do ANYTHING to see her happy! This Halloween my granddaughter is going to be Elsa (because she is obsessed with Frozen and she has blonde hair), I am going to be Ana (I have red hair) and her Pop Pop (who is this tough looking guy with a big beard and tattoos) would do ANYTHING to put a smile on his baby girl’s face so he is going to be Olaf ☺️

I know, it is easy to see the world as a dark and lonely place, especially with the media today portraying it as so, but it is FAR from the truth. Not everyone who is homeless does drugs or are alcoholics some have mental illness or are fleeing from abusive situations or lost everything. I know I became homeless when my mom died and had to sell the house to pay medicare back and I am battling Parkinsons.

Let's put it this way. My father was homeless in a horrible neighborhood for however long. It was really bad, he weighed 130 lbs and his teeth actually went black. He doesn't give to panhandlers. He's told me most of them are just scamming. If anyone would know and appreciate being in that situation, it's him.
